Too often nowadays the check-out time is 10am. Free biscuits and coffee/tea/hot chocolate from the vending machine in the lounge. The lounge/breakfast room were beautiful.

Loved the internet access - It is close to the center and very hand to use during the weekend out with friends.I also like the idea to have breakfast outsie the door to be consumed when I feel like it.

  There it was! The iconic Bryggen in full view from our hotel room window. The Scandic Strand could not have been better sited. Below us was the famous Fish Market and the Vagen Waterway, with only a short walk to the Floyen Mountain funicular.   Very friendly stall. We rented 3 rooms for our family. The front desk staff immediately upgraded my wife and my room to a deluxe unit. We had asked for quiet rooms so when we arrived around 2 pm, we were asked if we could wait 1-hour for the requested rooms. We were only 1- ni - The hotel exudes old-world charm: nice wood wainscotting, lovely wood floors, and Oriental rugs. A large first floor room stays open all day with complimentary coffee, tea, and fruit and a limited menu. Breakfast is fabulous. Whimsical light fixtures in the rooms add a nice touch. A close walk to the center of town. Across the street from the train station and several blocks from the bus station.
