  The location was unbelievable, right in the middle of town with all the bars and restaurants just outside the door and the views were remarkable. Couldn't believe we were only paying $27nz a night. The people on the fvront counter were the owners and they were nothing short of brilliant, helpfull and fun to be with. The rooms were brand new, beds d... what people say » idn't squeak and came with innerspring mattressesand clean everything, heaven after what we'd been sleeping on. Can't wait to get back there next year - I'm pretty fussy and I won't rate a place unless it goes beyond my expectation and this place did in every respect. Security is important when travelling alone and AVA does it all with style and ease. I've stayed in 4 star hotels that don't have the quite keyless entry doors with closers that don't allow the doors to slam or squeak yet still allow entry in the wee hours.It's the little things like quality loo paper, body/hair wash free in the showers, the beds, people, everything was excellent - Best place to meet new people...right next to tonnes of bars and night spots. Had friends staying at other local backpackers and after three days of noise in their 10-bed dorm they were begging to move in with us! AVA is the best of both worlds - all the party spots right outside the door, but we could still come back to peace and quiet and much needed sleep. Both our rooms had ensuites - so luxurious compared to other backpackers we'd stayed in. Best value in Queenstown! Incredible views too.

  Hi I'd just like to say from the time we arrived and were greeted by your lovely receptionist your property was well above what I was expecting. Very welcoming and we were given the room we requested which was more like a motel than a backpackers, friendly people, clean and perfect location. Good times.
