Older motel but very clean and excellent beds. Close to Denny's for breakfast or it had refrigerator, microwave and hot plate with dishes in the room. Great place to stay if on a budget. liked that I could walk to everywhere i needed to go! And that is was so close to the airport but no plane noise. Also that I didn't have to go into Auckland central for anything!. It was not on a busy road and just a walk away from everything. My son enjoyed watching the trucks parking up. I would stay there again with my family.

We liked this Motel because it was close to our destination which was Rainbows End. It was within short walking distance of a Westfield Shopping centre which was great as we cooked our own food. The view from our room was beautiful as the surrounding areas were lit up by fireworks. very friendly cleaning staff.....location is good.....linens were very clean ... Good pressure in the shower and good to have 2 bathrooms in the family unit. good position, convenient traffic, large room. Near motorways. The venue was close to the event we attended The bed linen were nice and crisp I'd recommend Auckland to other travellers. noise of other travellers early in the morning woke me up every day about 6am. There were a few things wrong in the room which I had to draw the attention of staff too. They addressed all issues in a very timely manner, but it would have been good to not to have to identify mulitple room maintenance requirements myself. The comfort : Old mattress, mattress need to be change, and the comfort will be good. I only stayed a night. bed not comfortable, tv too small,. Being 1st time stayers I thought when checking in more information could have been given eg. Where to leave the key on departure. Maybe also "Is this your 1st time here?" then go from there. Directions for the unit was not clear, by pointing and saying "just around the corner" wasn't good enough. The unit was at the Far end of the carpark. I left my Booze behind. windows in the roadside were could not be completely closed. so the noise from the highway was a bit annoying. Unit was a bit dated and needed repairs they were only small so could be repaired quickly, walls could do with a good wash or paint. Cover on sofa holey, chairs had broken pieces and the tv's either had no sound or picture all fuzzy. Requires lots of general maintenance eg: hose hose reel rusty, gives impression no one cares & does not give confidence of the safety aspects. Some of the rooms starting to get a little outdated. 1. The info said there was a tumble drier, but there was only washing machines so no point washing if you can't dry your clothes 2. a cleaning lady letting herself into our room just before 9am - lucky we were up and dressed - don't they get a list of rooms to change, or know when people have gone, check out is 10am after all?. Not receiving our ordered breakfast on the last morning. My grandson had to go without breakfast. There is really no excuse good enough. A little old and slightly shabby. Needs updating. Rooms old and run down. Pretty expensive in comparison for what u can get for $220 per night. Wooden balcony outside the room - very noisy when people walk past. stuck around smokers outside the rooms. shortage of closet space. the complimentary milk was sparing. my booking included breakfast when I booked and yet when I arrived it did not?. We had ants in our room upon arrival. The cutlery and plates were not washed from the previous guests. We didnt like the sun light that lit up the room at 6am. There were very little television channels to choose from and the ones that we would have liked to watch were very blury and the sound was poor. The shower was confusing to use. The water pressure in the shower was either full blast or not at all. If you dont like traffic noises then this is not the motel for you. very dirty curtains....it is so hard to go to second level by stairs with the baggage ...dirty stairs ....dirty carpet ....milk not provided in the rooms....no vent in the toilet except the small window on top.... Decor very tired and worn. Carpet stained. my friend felt itchy when slept and was bitten by insects from the sheet, and the staff changed the sheets for us after complaints. Room was a bit smelly, but seemed clean enough. Difficult to get bags to room up flights of stairs. on site restaurants very poor. The rooms were very tired. Paint was peeling off the walls Dust was visible on walls above kitchen bench Mould was visible on wall above the shower The fold out sofa bed was broken and no one had bothered to check it I wouldn't recommend Rayland Motel as I felt $155 was over priced for the state of the facilities.
