What people say
The quirkiness of the hotel is a very novel experience. The hosts were
excellent - and nothing was too much trouble. The room was cleaned and
tidied every day; and the continental breakfast served each day was
excellent. The overall hotel experience is excellent but if your stay
is for more than 2 nights I would recommend one of the rooms with a
'normal' bed. The hotel is in a central position - and the
town is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area
which includes the beau. all reviews »
We stayed in the executive suite and found the room to be very spacious, clean and well equipped with amenities (fridge, Illy coffe machine). The breakfast was a real feast and the hostess was very welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended.
The hostess Gabriella was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was lovely and we enjoyed are stay. The breakfast was a feast and the forge was very interesting.
The hotel is nearby the local station. The friendly staff, free drinks, and the “old style” room with comfortable bathroom made our trip more pleasant.
Family run business. Very nice lady who's in charge of the reception.
Good location in town. Free parking is nearby.
Wi-fi good.
Very nice staff and they made a big effort to make the hotel comfortable and unique (artistic features).
Location was great for the town. Staff was fairly nice. View over the street was fun. Bathroom was great.
We stayed in the smallest room - where the sleeping area was a 'bed
stay' ie it is enclosed in a box and you climb in and out of it via
steps. I did not like this. It might be ok for younger people but we
were there for 5 nights and by the second night the novelty had worn
off. The room is also very hot at night - there is climate control but
you cannot alter it yourself - but the hosts will happily change it to
your liking.
The room is not very large.
As with so many boarding places these days, breakfast is charged as an extra.
Bed was terrible, way too soft, slept poorly. Breakfast was mediocre at best but about the same we have seen elsewhere in the Netherlands. Did not like getting charged for breakfast when we did not eat (it was listed as being charged separately) They claimed this was due to Bookings.com, I am not sure I buy it and if it is true would not use Bookings.com again without an explanation.
