The staff was very friendly. The reception desk really surprised me with their kind greeting and helpfulness. The hotel was visually pleasing and the rooms were comfortable and clean. I also appreciated the communication I received via e-mail before our stay, making sure everything was the way we needed it for our group which included two young children. Staff has been excellent-very accommodating. One staff member helped us a lot on last day when our rental car didn't start and we had flight to catch.we finally made it. thanks to her.hotel is best value for the money. excellent comfortable beds.
all reviews » This hotel was a real treat - impeccably clean and fresh, welcoming and helpful staff, conveniently located. The restaurant was a surprise - I had expected average food but had a piece of perfectly grilled Arctic char, a real pleasure. It makes a good base for travelling each day to explore the region I liked that we could hire bikes and they provided two suggested routes The pantry where we could buy snacks and sundries. Close to motorway and the University (NB it is on the outskirts of Leiden city however). New and modern building. Parking very fast and easy under the building. the friendly helpful staff and the feeling of absolute luxury,we had the chefs menu one night and it was excelent .free on site (mostly underground)parking. ease of getting to the locations we had planned to see,both by our own vehicle and the local/national public transport systems. Very good place! Exellent breakfast, comfortable and calm. Free parking- security! The car its obligatoare. The clean, modern feeling of the public areas. The snack area on the lobby floor. The hotel was a bit hard to find, but our gps got a bit confused with the new roads. It was also a little hard to figure out how to leave the hotel and get back on the main road. I'm sure all of this will be remedied when construction on the surrounding property is finished. nothing. The hotel is siutated beside a busy road - but that also makes it very convenient for many of its business customers. The fact that as an adult who only eats one small bowl of cereal for breakfast there was only one charge- for a full breakfast at 19 euros! Suggestion either 1 There is also a smaller charge for continental breakfast 2 That the pantry sells small packets of cereal and milk. Coffee ordered via room service was horrible. Our room with a king size bed was well appointed but had no bath. Cooked breakfast was awful - as usual bacon overcooked, horrible porj sausages (fairly standard though by NL standards). Not much atmosphere in the hotel - eating area felt like a very clean canteen - doubt anyone visits the bar. for us the only thing that it was missing was a swimming pool/sauna room but this was a very small minus gainst a superb hotel. Location! "Discovery" the hotel- difficult!. A little difficult to get to because of no signs and our GPS. A bit remote with nothing nearby. Cost of breakfast. Room outlook. We asked for a rear room away fro traffic noise bu were given a side view looking out on the wall and neon sign of Corpus next door. The traffic noise was still bad if window opened but ok if shut. Hard to find using GPS. You can see it from the A4 so ignore the GPS. Far from the city. Great if you are there for a conference or need to be close to the Business park closeby. Staff should not be using personnel cell phones at work, especially when they are checking in guests. The coffee at breakfast was not hot as it should be, also the eggs should also be hotter. Quite poorly signposted. It's location.. if you don't have a car. No swimming pool. none. The staff were not friendly and the maid came into the room at 0800 without knocking or announcing herself. The reservation was made with a comment that it was the wedding night, yet there was no complimentary card or fruit basket or anything else. At breakfast the staff weren't alert when things ran out. We had to frequently ask for things and that was a nuisance. The cleaning staff didn't notice when things ran out, like coffee and toilet paper - so we had to go get it ourselves. Location is too far away from the city, and hard to get to the city if you don't have a car. A bit noisy now because of a construction site next door. Not so soundproof, you can hear the neighbours in the hall. Traffic noise in bedrooms at front of hotel (even number rooms) Bedrooms not cleaned very well/ cupboards dusty, carpets not hoovered daily Breakfast tables not cleared regularly bar & restaurant pricey. Very difficult to find, or actually to get to. You can see it from a distance but it is in the tiniest back-street which comes off the motorway some distance away. And my gps led me into a blind alley!.
