The location is excellent, especially since we had to be at a ceremony at the university, on spitting distance. Breakfast: good variety with fresh bread, cereals, fruit,etc. Very helpful staff. A lounge with possibility of having coffee and tea at all hours, plus newspapers. Central location Not very noisy, although surrounded by bars Nice bathroom, comfortable bed Cheap and I was able to book the room for the same day... even got a discount for the last minute booking.
all reviews » Excellent location right in the heart of Groningen. Free bike parking was available a block away in an underground garage that is locked at night. In the hotel we had to walk up and down narrow stairs, the room was at the far end of a second building. No wifi in our room in spite of what was promised on the website. Heating was on 28C and I was unable to find the way to turn it off. It was not comfortable to sleep in such heated room. No minibar Small TV. Dull institutional architecture. Wifi does not reach some rooms, including ours, so had to go to lobby. Bed was a bit hard. Accessibility by car. Long corridor to our room. Wifi connection in some of the rooms are problematic. Rooms are very small and quite simple decorated. Expected more for the price... Noisy outside. But ear plugs are included :). Noiselevel could be a problem for some people. Luckily they had earplugs in the bathroom. Room are absolutely fine, but corridors and hallways need a big pot of paint !!! I had to leave unexpectedly long before breakfast: the receptonist could have had the elegance of refunding the € 11,- it makes you feel like living a a computersystem instead of with people !. room was cold even with radiator fully turned on. Many rooms have their windows facing a belgian beerbar - that is fun, but noisy, and open until 02.00 hrs in the morning. Don't forget to bring your earplugs.No airconditioning available, so if you want fresh air, you'll have to open the window. Parking was difficult.we could not find a parkingspace and ended in thr casinoparking and payed 42euro for a night!. most rooms overlook a pub which keeps going till about 3.30am on a Saturday, just the sound of jolly conversation but a noise nevertheless. Not the hotel's fault, just the location. The free WIFI did not work on my room B3. A bit expensive for the level of comfort & facilities offered. lot of stairs. Too much noise cause it is in inside of the city, can't sleep during the night. - There is no pillow or quilt for the baby - the central area of the city was completely (stupid governmemt) blocked due to some event in the city, we are driving thus we have to check in after 11pm. - very noisy.
