The staff really made an effort to assist us. They arranged the purchase of a train ticket for a small fee, stored our luggage when we travelled to the Atlas mountains to hike Mt Toubkal, and helped with calls to make reservations for dinner and at a mountain refuge. We booked the suite for our first 2 nights and a standard room for after our return from the mountains, they upgraded us for free uand we were able to stay in the suite the entire time. The rooms are clean but dark as can be expect.
all reviews » The house is beautiful and the rooms are really cosy and comfortable. It is very close to the main square. They welcome you with a mint tea in a spectacular atmosphere but the best is the staff, specially Rahal, who is extremely kind and useful. He will help you with all you need around the city: your way around and he is also very useful whenever you are in the house, offering all the comodities in the wonderful housr. At first we like the pleasant arrival, pick-up service from the airport and the walk through the narrow streets to the Riad. Just step through the frontdoor and discover the beautifull Patio. The rooms are nice and have a really marrocan atmosphere. The roof terrace and dining place are perfect for a romantic dinner. The food is delicious! The hammam and massage are of a good quality. The location is fine, just a walk to the old and new town. But the best of all was the service of Hassania, Kha. The Riad is nicely laid out and the staff very friendly. It is a real haven from the bustle of the Medina where you can relax there all day of you like. The roof terrace and plunge pool are beautiful although they do need to clean the pool more frequently. There were six of us including three children and we always felt safe coming and going. Our stay at Riad Viva was a pleasing surprise. The riad has a very strong and unique identity - it is full of regional and elegant furniture, paintings and carpets, among other things. The elegance of the rooms is surreal. And best of all - we could get all this for a fair price. Riad Viva is gorgeous! It is peaceful and aesthetically pleasing in every way. The breakfast was delicious and every effort was made to make our stay enjoyable. The staff is excellent and extremely helpful. Anyone who chooses this riad can be sure they won't regret it!. Compared to other riads, the location is a bit off from the central part of the Medina. Cannot really fault it.. It was fantastic value for money and a great experience. The Riad was one of the good things wit hthis city, not a place Iwould return to, experiencing it once is quite enough. The location down the very narrow streets was not ideal as there were a number of people hanging around there and looking to hassle you. The temperature of the pool was extremely cold which meant you could only dip into there for a minute or two. The cooking course offered wasn't quite as I had expected but I don't regret doing it. Nothing to dislike. No negatives. We walk from the main street to the hotel was terrifying. It is down a dark alley that ended up being very safe and full of nice people. Don't let the initial walk scare you away from this wonderful place!. Couldn't find a beer very easily, but I did choose a Muslim country !!. Only access via long alleyway. Menu selection limited in Riad and local restaurants. I did not like that they did not have change when they are a cash only property. Also, wine was mentioned on the Menu but i was curtly told 'there is no wine', odd for a wine producing country!. Very basic breakfast. It states 'free airport transfers' however only one transfer is free from the airport, the one back is charged 20 euros. It is not made clear in the description. Wifi is good only in the lobby a bit distance from main road and to souks. Didn't change the sun bed towels every day. people who continually tried to con money out of you....men only.....women no problem. An error in our booking meant we were moved to another riad on last night as riad viva weren't able to accommodate us . Riad Diana wasn't as nice and bed was uncomfortable . Breakfast area was outside our room so was very noisy. The way many Morrocans treat their animals outside in the streets this was very upsetting. Poor breakfast. They could improve on variety.
