This is a lovely remodeled home with just a few ample-sized rooms with private baths. It is located on a quiet neighborhood street; which, with the interesting artifacts all around, the pretty patio and garden, creates a serene atmosphere. Perfect for an oasis while visiting the bustling areas of Mexico City. The well-known Coyoacan downtown, is just a few blocks from this hotel. The colors, the decor and the peacefulness of the inner courtyard made it hard for me to leave the room and head into the hustle and bustle of Coyoacan and Mexico City. Our host, Fernando, served a beautifully appointed breakfast each morning. We enjoyed wonderful conversations and advice from our host and the other guests. The owner of the Maria de Alma is one of the most courteous and cultured hosts I have met in over twenty years of traveling. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to find out what sophisticated Mexican cuisine/ design/ hospitality is all abo. Maria Del Alma is a charming old family home in Coyoacan, no more than 5 minutes walk from the zocalo, cathedral and city gardens and about the same distance to Frida Kahlo's Casa Azul. The house is recently renovated with 4 spacious, comfortable luxury rooms, a gorgeous walk-in shower, a beautiful garden and a patio where guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast. We had a superb stay!! The place is great, perfectly located and with an excellent staff. Photos do no mercy to the place. We were doubting whether to stay there or not based in what we saw in pictures, we decided to stay there based on the location. At our arrival we realised that it was an awesome place and really worthwhile. this is in all respects a wonderful place to stay. the owner and other staff members could not have been more gracious. Very friendly and helpful hosts in a family-like setting close to an historical area and reasonably convenient for public transport. Tiny bed and to our though it is a bit expensive for a guest house. low water pressure in the shower.
