Seoul Palace offered a luxury hotel at a reasonable rate through letsbookhotel.com. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. The hotel is a cheap cab ride away from a lot of good spots like Gangnam, Myeongdong and Itaewon (especially for Americans). Nice comfortable rooms, very friendly staff and the hotel itself is kept impeccably clean and tidy. It is conveniently located very close to a subway, the main bus terminal and a large shopping centre. Free wifi in the hotel lobby.
all reviews » I went with a group of friends for a weekend trip and we were all amazed by the the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were simply amazing. I highly recommend this hote. The staff are good at English, and so friendly that we felt very warm in a completely unfamiliar city. Also, it takes only 5min walk to a block of delicious local food, and less than 10min walk to metro stops. Staff members were very friendly. The renovated hotel room was clean and pleasant. The location was excellent for shopping and transportation. I will definitely go back to this hotel for later trip. The palace was really nice, very friendly staff, nice room, good service. Breakfast is very expensive, and whilst there were cheaper options for in room breakfasts there was only one (high) cost option for in the restaurant. There are much more diverse and cheaper options a short walk away. Only that the rooms are quite tiny. I didn't like the Chinese restaurant on the top floor. I wish the palace were closer to the center of Seoul. The internet too expensive $22 per night. free wifi only in the lobby, charged in the room. Lifts system not integrated, are other facilities/ gym free for use?. Smaller square footage. being charged then refunded then re-charged. Cost of the internet charge. The gym / sauna is for men only... For women you have to escorted by a female staff member to use the machine. Western food is disgusting, better eat only Korean. It's hard to communicate with the staffs in English. And the attitude of the staffs weren't so good after we asked for changing the room due to the noise problem. The route of the airport shuttle bus isn't so good. Although the hotel is just nearby the highway. But the bus will go forward to city first and then go back to highway. So it will take much long time than you could image to the airport . Small lobby area with worn out seating area. room carpet was very dirty. I did not like the reception staff. Impolite. Didn't even answer the phone. The lobby was extremely noisy and the lobby sofas were uncomfortable. This hotel shouldn't be rated 5 stars.
