The staff is brilliant, really trying to make you comfortable, although you do sometimes feel interfering into their family life. food is ok, not exceptional. location is beautiful, setting and house as well (especially for skiing in high season when the lifts are open) , but you do have to walk up the hill at night if you want to eat something in

stayed for a week early march,perfect position, a minute from the shops & cafes, 4 mins walk from the ski access moving road. a traditional japanese inn with own onsens, male and female, tatami mats, futons and a magnificent japanese breakfast...plus a wonderful host who looked after as if we were family...loved it

The apartments are right in the centre of town and the restaurants are all within a few minutes walk. The studio apartment we had was spacious by Japanese standards. It had a nice modern feel without loosing all of its old-worldly charm. I would be happy to go back there if we get the chance! -
