  The owner was very friendly. He bought out two beautiful kimonos and a pair of samurai swords for us to try on and had mirrors positioned to get great reflective shots of my wife in the kimono. The royakan was clean and quiet. His directions to catch the train to the airport were accurate and easy to follow - in spite of our inability to speak J... what people say » apanese. The local shopping mall, and huge "Gourmet" food store was a great place to buy last minute travel presents. A little nearby coffee shop/vint - The owner was extremely nice and helpful. It was fun to stay on a tatami mat and have an onsen like bathroom. You can't beat the price and it was a short cab ride into the main park in Nara.

  Great room, very big for Japanese standards, nice onsen, excellent staff - Traditional style room. facilities are somehow old. Ten minutes walk to JR station. Just live a day for try.
