My stay of 5 nights was a truly lovely experience from arrival to departure, wonderful room design (King, level 2), everything thoughtfully arranged, lots of space to hang and put away clothes and other items, scrupulously clean, spacious shower, a calming room which was a delightful refuge after busy days out. The staff were, without exception, superb, each an asset to the hotel, I sincerely thank every individual for making my stay so enjoyable. I've lodged at many fine hotels across the glob.
all reviews » 1) Breakfast - European buffet was to die for!! they cook ham in front of your eyes, excellent choice of fruit, muesli, sausages, fish. 2) Spacious room. 3) Staff speaks good English and very helpful, allowed us to leave our luggage for free for 3 days even when we left for Tokyo and then didn't come back to Hyatt again. 4) Locality is really convenient for both sightseeing (next to Kyoto Museum and various temples) and logistics point (5 min from train/shinkansen station). My friend and I had been travelling for a week in Japan staying in hostels and decided we should treat ourselves to a night of solid rest and relaxation and the Hyatt Regency in Kyoto was absolutely the best place to indulge. We checked in and the staff were lovely, we both had an amazing massage each and ordered room service for dinner. Everything was more perfect than we expected! We never wanted to leave!. Incredibly helpful concierge staff; Beautiful lobby; Lovely bathroom/bedroom design, function, convenience, & comfort;Trattoria Settee has some of the best Italian food we've eaten; Architecture in Touzan bar is intriguing; Breakfast was varied, attractive, and delicious. The service was excellent, particularly the concierges who helped us a lot in making our visit to Kyoto very special as well as expediting our visit to the next destination on our trip. The buffet breakfast included in the rate was generous and delicious. I have travelled quite a bit around world but have never come across better staff than this hotel staff. Awesome staff. Beyond words. They helped us with everything including figuring out and getting tickets for Sumo race/fight! Thanks to concierge. First class accommodations, unique setting and with an opening window in the room! This place made the optimal resting & relaxing end to all the exploring we did the couple of days in Kyoto. Staff was the best I've experienced!. The rooms are spacious, well designed, clean, smell good. Location is good for the temples of Higashiyama. The concierge desk is absolutely spectacular. Service levels are excellent all round. Nothing is too much trouble. Despite the short one night stay, I felt so much relax in this hotel. Its nice decor made this hotel stands out from others in this old city. I love it and will definitely come back with my wife, but will stay longer. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I dislocated my shoulder a few days before in niseko and they regularly asked me if I needed any help, if I was in pain etc... Very caring and thoughtful. The staff spoke good English. They try their best to accommodate. They acknowledge you with genuine greetings. Food is excellent for the Touzan restaurant. I liked the atmosphere of Kyoto, as well as the temples and gardens. People are friendly and food is excellent. Shopping is a lot cheaper than Hong Kong. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The staff was very knowledgeable in finding information about the visits to the historical sites. Atmosphere, rooms, location, breakfast all excellent. Good circulation spaces, nice seating opportunities, the bar downstairs is a delight. I do like the room with a good view that I can feel free as home .and Hyatt have all for that .very smooth and the staff very kindly . Excellence service. I booked this room so that our family (we have 2 children aged 12 and 10) could stay together. There were 2 beds in the room which is fine however the beds were narrower than a standard double bed which made it a bit squachy. We were offered an upgrade to the room at an extra $60 per night, however, this would have been over our budjet. the location is slightly out of the centre, but I guess it adds to the tranquility, and the restaurants stop serving at 9.30pm...At 9.25pm practically all the staff disappear as if it were 2am. Shower room has no shade, only mat glasses (see through), a bit embarassing when travelling with family members. Suggest to install sliding shade to cover. Nothing to complain. Location wasn't bad but could be even better (a short bus ride from the train station but not walkable) Wifi in rooms was subject to a fee. Restaurants quite expensive but food was very good. We asked for a cup of hot milk to be sent to our room for our young child's porridge and were charged 11 dollars for this - we felt overcharged for this. Just 1 thing: no pool. No pool No free WiFi in room. Chairs of Italian restaurant in the hotel "Sette" were too hard for a hour and half relaxing dinner. Breakfast buffet very limited selection, but expensive. They Never bring coffee refills unless you ask several times. They dont bring the bill unless you ask for it 3 times They ask for your room number and name over and over again al the time at breakfast. Rooms are quite small. The small rooms. Rooms are abit small but in Japan this is common. Fact that Bar allows smokers and that there is no not smoking area. Far from the conscience and shopping. The bar. Concierge service. Rooms very small. elevators. Rooms are of a fairly basic quality, although not uncomfortable. Very little by way of shopping in or around the hotel. The gym is dark and difficult to get to. * All the tv program is in Japanese, even bbc! Isn't it an international hotel?. Very expensive. restaurant menu, very limited and the service was poor. Small bathroom with hazardous step in the middle. Room 1248 on second floor has a concrete wall as a view. No pool. Rooms were extremely small. I got a small room without a view (a roof view). I payed for a room 500$. Finally, next day after complain I got a nice room with a beautiful garden view. Stuff gave me a wrong directions (cost me taxi and time). Not a great location to stay for a single traveler. Hotel price is super high-Not worth it. No swimming pool, just a sauna which looks old.
