We had a 1 month trip around Japan :- Tokyo(Asakusa), Tokyo(Yokahama), a cruise, KYOTO, Hiroshima, Osaka & back via Helsinki. Throughout Japan we were impressed by the politeness, friendliness & cleanliness & we are sure all hotels at all levels meet the same standards. Kyoto is the old capital of Japan. This hotel was just outside the city centre, & we had an enormous room with magnificent views of the forests, mountains & lakes. Metro station to the city centre & Old .
all reviews » This was one of the best hotels we stayed in Japan. The location was very easy, we just took the subway to reach Kokusaikaikan and the directions on the subway took us directly to the hotel. It was a very comfortable and nice room, with free internet. The buffet downstairs was very good for dinner and the surrounding environment was very nice and green. As my older daughter was in the room one day, they didn' t have oppurtinity to clean the room, so they presented us 500 JPY gift check for it. Every Things was perfect. We stay at Hotel on the June 25 coming back from a trip of Southern Japan. The Hotel is fabulous. Expecially we would like to give aur personal thanks to the attendant Miss Lu and Mr. Suzuki who make our way back to Narita express to airport smooth and easy, with their inidcation and help in showing the way, carrying our luggage. The hotel had large rooms, with beautiful views over the parks. Everything was clean and comfortable. A bit far out from the city center, but surrounded by beautiful parks. The hotel also does currency exchange on the premises at a better rate than at the airport. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The space , the bedrooms and public rooms have lots of space and our suite was very comfortable, we liked the hotel setting as it was very quiet and we thought very easy to reach on the metro once you knew how. although at the end of the underground line it was easy to get around to the major sites using public transport situated on the edge of Kyoto with lovely walks around the surrounding countryside. super clean, nice rooms, close to main transportation in kyoto. it was a GREAT start to our journey in japan. i will surely come back!. The helpfulness and professionalism of the staff. Would have been lost without their assistance on so many practical matters. The hotel was grand, our room was huge, the hotel was close to the subway line so easy to access, we love it here. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. Exactly what we were looking for. Setting was beautiful; hotel was nice but a meals were expensive. Beautiful location near to a park. The hotel is right at the end of the metro line, near the station, easy to find and in quiet surroundings. Nothing - it was excellent. Nothing bad about that hotel. The hotel is expensive. The price of the room was expensive, but nothing was included with the room. They don't have facilities for you to do anything yourself, and not even tea and coffee is provided without you paying (too much) for it. the food was poor and expensive . We tried the evening buffet which was luke warm, and had obviously been standing for hours. The idea of paying £38 for a three course Chinese meal or £55 for a limited French meal is absurd. We noted the restaurants were often empty. We could see why. We ended up eating in a local restaurant or in central Kyoto. Rarely have we encountered such poor value in a top hotel. restaurants were expensive and limited menu in the main restaurant which stopped serving the limited selection at 8pm with only the buffet available. i loved simply everything about this place. Price for the first two nights was expensive but subsequent nights represented excellent value. Well worth the cost overall. The regular rate is quite high - get a discount. The "green" cleaning only every 3rd day is a good initiative, but having a message to pick up and sign for the 500 JPY check for each day individually is awkward. Just ask at check in and make it easy, not a hassle. Similarly, the wired (no wifi) internet in rooms that needs to be renewed for 1000 JPY every day (if you at all understand how to by the cryptic web messages) is awkward. I found no possibility to buy snacks at hotel - only drinks and souvenirs. resto staff a little bit unfriendly too suspicious , even they are wrong . No coin laundry!. Too far from tourist attractions. Expensive for coffee / beer etc in bar. Location quite far from Central Kyoto. nothing really. expensive meals. Way to far from city center, expensive breakfast. English is needed to improve. a little bit better English will be useful, but then - it will not be a typical Japanese hotel. It take about 20 minutes to get into the central areas, but not too bad really. The air conditioning was set to a permanent temperature. It would get quite hot in the room at night unless you open the windows. The windows would be shut by the time you return to your room again at night. nice hotel rooms are a little outdated. food was average. Could not have dinner at their Japanese and Chinese restaurants. No other restaurant in the vicinity. No shuttle service to train station.
