We stayed in Kyoto for 6 nights at the Best Western and were thoroughly pleased. As soon as we arrived we were taken very well care of - the staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. They were also very warm and I could have a bit of a chat and laugh with them too which I love doing. all reviews » When booking a room I asked for a quiet room, and this request has been dealt with in a most perfect manner possible - the view was over a cemetery. Hotel location is absolutely perfect, in pedestrianized Rokkaku-dori, just off the busy Kawaramachi-dori, with hotel being well shielded from traffic by a large UniQlo shop. The room was excellent, not too small, clean and nicely decorated. A beautiful an relaxing place to stay, good for holidays and for a business trip. The hotel is new and the room was well designed and very comfortable and clean. The location is excellent - right in the center of downtown Kyoto, in the middle of shopping district, and very close to the main dining and nightlife zones. In spite of its central location, the hotel is situated in a small alley so it was also very quiet at night. The staff was very nice and helpful and even let us leave our luggage for 24 hours. It was in a perfect location. Right next to a covered shopping arcade with all the typical small Japanese shops. Starbucks was about 200 ft. Away and a delicious croissant shop right across from it. It had easy subway and taxi access and the Nishiki market was attached to the shopping arcade. A great location to get to know Kyoto and to see the many temples and shrines.
