The landlady was a wonderful person. Speaks great English, was friendly and extremely helpful. We loved our room! It even had a perfect view of Fuji from our window on a clear day. The place is about a 20 minutes walk to Fujiyoshida station/bus terminal which has bus access to most parts of the city. Wonderful place! The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating, offering useful advice of where to go for good walks and to start the Mt Fuji climb. She even let us stay on later than checkout so I could shower after my night climb of the mountain. Rooms are clean and comfy, Ryokan style.
all reviews » Service was great, we got some nice advice about a local restaurant. In contrast to many other hostels the room and the facilities were really clean. If you are looking for a budget location in Fujiyoshida, this is the place to stay. I have done so 4 times before and I was never disappointed. The lady who runs the place is lovely, the place is an old house perfectly set and very clean for you to enjoy your stay, she even had the japanese style tub full of hot water if we wanted to bath after the shower. Would definitely come back and I recommend it. The hostel has a very welcoming and helpful staff and is in a good location (shops, restaurants, and the yoshida trail at the bottom of Mount Fuji are all within walking distance). I have no complaints about facilities. It was a wonderful place to stay. :). Lovely lady running the place, very helpful and kind, speaks great English.
