Fantastic bird's eye view over Corniglia and Vernazza villages! The rooms are starkly white and the hotel is located among fragrant gardens, vines and orchards. Feels like you are in the Garden of Eden. The location within the small village of Volastra, setting amongst olive trees and vineyards and fantastic views in particular, spacious room and balcony, very friendly owner and staff, well maintained.

Breakfast. Geting to Volastra is a bit of a headache. But once you are up there - you feel like you won a lottery ticket.The only problem was that we did not get some important information on the exact location. The hotel was in Volastra and the confirmation stated Riomaggiore so we arrived in Riomaggiore only to find out that Volastra is in the hill above Manarola, so we had to get back on the train and then take the bus up to Volastra, which was an unecessary delay and hard to do with luggage. Communication was a little difficult when we arrived as the lady who met us was unable to speak English and alas we have no Italian. We sorted ourselves out quickly though.Only one restaurant locally. It is located in Volastra which is a bus ride from Maranola. Thelocation was away from all the tourists but it is a bit isolated. Thereis only 1 restaurant in the village so unless you want to drive orcatch a bus it is a bit limited. However the food at the restaurant wasgreat. A small family restaurant. Ask for the melon and proscuitto.Never had better.The soundproofness of the rooms was terrible. I think it's a pity that the hotel doesn't use their wonderful terrace more to provide more drinks and snacks for the guests as there is only one restaurant in the village or one has to get the bus down to Manarola for diffferent choices of food.Noise from adjacent rooms. Very noisy. Too expensive. Remote.
