Top of the list would be the extremely friendly and helpful staff. The gentleman (manager?) on reception repeatedly went out of his way to assist us - from ordering taxis, storing baggage and receiving us after hours to posting back my phone charger when I accidentally left it behind when checking out (Thankyou!). The room itself was spacious, impeccibly clean and redecorated in a simple but elegant style. Wifi was available and worked well in the room. We also appreciated the refreshment room .

It was a wonderful hotel, the owners could not do enough. The rooms and particularly the bathroom were large and roomy, with great character. The addition of an area where people could help themselves to tea, coffee, cold drinks and snacks was an excellent idea, and all in all we could not fault the hotel, it was excellent value for money and was a truly exceptional experience. When we could not find parking, they drove our car around for us looking for parking then the staff moved their own car and parked ours in their spot. It's fantastic place to stay, an absolute gem. Hallway has wooden floors/linoleum so very noisy when people go past, more rugs are required to combat this. The kitchen/tea room area should have the door shut to minimize noise. There is no dedicated parking for this hotel. You find street parking and they have a city pass for you to use. This works well only if there is a spot nearby, which was a problem for us. Also, there is no breakfast. This adds an extra cost to the stay when there we have 2 teenagers to feed and we have to go out to a cafe to feed them. nothing. On-site breakfast would have made it perfect, but there are plenty of places to eat within an easy stroll, so it wasn't a big issue. Nothing. Nothing. The car park was difficult to access as it is at the basement of the building. You may have to ask owner`s help to drive in and out of the car park! The building is by the canal but not all rooms get the views!. Our room was opposite the little kitchen and other guests were noisy at times. Nothing - everything was perfect!. I loved everything. Very little breakfast, self-serve. Public parking can be scarce, but manager very helpful for securing a spot. the building isn't accessible to disabled people. No parking for my small Mercedes even if it was booked and confirmed. = Too big car. Limited english language makes it difficult to contact by phone. nothing. Not one complaint.
