Fabulously over the top decor. Lovely rooms. Some rooms with a small balcony on the canal side or with a canal view. Another has a balcony over the courtyard garden. Superb location (NOT in the middle of the most dense tourist areas). In a lovely area near to the university which is more reminiscent of 'real' Venice than the most popular tourist areas. A must-see is the "Campo Santa Margherita" square about ten minutes pleasant walk away. This square has some lovely excellent and excellent val.
all reviews » This is a smaller boutique hotel with excellent service! Rooms are small but luxuriously appointed and comfortable with more storage than immediately meets the eye. Breakfast was excellent with delectable choices. The staff is kind and extremely helpful with requests and eager to make excellent suggestions for traveler's ease. The front desk managers are particularly helpful in making arrangements for transportation or restaurants/places nearby to visit. Reservations were made for us at "Carpac. What an amazingly romantic getaway hotel, our Window overlooked one of the canals in Venice, we even caught a Gondola right In front of the Hotel. Altho pricey by most city standards, it was so very reasonable by Venice standards. It was only a very short walk to the San Tomà ferry boat station which was only 2 or 4 stops (about 10 min.) away from The Rialto Bridge one way and Saint Mark's Square the other way. The room was amazing! The staff was so willing to do anything to make our stay enjoy. I thought the room was absolutely fantastic! The attention to detail, the lovely decor, the bright space and the lovely view made coming home to the hotel a true pleasure. The staff were all very kind, thoughtful and attentive. The breakfast had all that you could want to start your day. To top it all off, the light-show in the bathroom was a lovely touch! Everything was of the highest quality at the Palazetto Madonna! This hotel will blow your mid away!. The hotel is a romantic dream, well equipped with a full set of amenities and a great baroque design of the rooms. You feel like a the doge of Venice. The breakfast is very complete, with fresh orange juice, great coffee and a wide variety of bread, pancakes, cookies, cereal. It took me an hour to find the place, but that is part of the charm of Venice. And once you know your way around, the vaporetto stop is literally around the corner. The staff are very professional, helpful, and interested in the comfort of the guests. Venice is a complicated location to get your bearings in and they could not have been more helpful. Rooms are very well appointed and comfortable with all the bells and whistles you would expect at a 4 star hotel. Great room (#3) with wonderful heavy wooden doors opening out canal side. The setting was amazing. The location was perfect for me but I guess a bit away from the main centre. It was lovely and quite and only 10 mins walk to Academia or Rialto. Firstly, the staff were very helpful, pro-active and efficient. The fixtures and fitting were out of this world. No expense seemed to have been too much.The bed was so comfortable that we did not really want to leave. Wonderful shower. Luxury pure!. Loved the location! It was nice to be away from the large crowds of Rialto and St Marks but yet the location was very close to the valpretto and in a nice interesting neighborhood. Delicious breakfast and very helpful staff. As we arrived we where positively surprised by the kindness of the staff and we were offered a free upgrade to Junior Suite. Was fine. The Hotel weas not too far out and Venice is so pretty even in the winter. Breakfast was fine.but..... The rooms were a bit warm, but we just slept with the windows open which was fine (end of October). Beware of the fish restaurant just down the quay, the food is lovely, but at positively eye watering prices. Check out others, notably the cafes at Campo Santa Margherita instead. The staff make a big deal of my request to add the company name rather than my personal name to the invoice. They lectured me that this had to be requested before check-in, which is definitely not the norm. I always ask this upon check-out. Yet, they changed it all eventually. Warm weather in October but they were unable to turn the air conditioning back on so the hotel was very warm. This was out of control of the staff unfortunately. Forced the guests to sleep with windows open and be subject to the alley noise. Very steep charge for water at bar, and hot chocolate (same hot choc that comes out of a machine served at breakfast). Noise from adjacent room; recommend sound-proofing the walls. One bath towel worn and ripped at end! (was replaced immediately by house-keeping on complaint). No shower gel or hair conditioner provided; surprising for hotel of this class (shampoo, body lotion & bath foam provided instead). The only negative was blocked drain but everything else was great. Nothing. It takes a while to walk to San Marco from there ...although its always a pleasure to room around Venice streets. my view was on a busy street and it was quite noisy, also there was a lot of noise from other rooms. Do not book a suite, they come with a view on the canal which is quite bad, very very noisy in the morning. Also the suite are not really suite, they give you 2 connected room. It is a bit difficult to find the hotel place if go there for the first time. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Room service with breakfast was not the same as the one on the menu card. Bit noisy because of some work done nearby. Nothing. No wifi access in the rooms so we had to go to the common area to use our devices. It was all perfect. Only one suggestion a hotel bar would have been nice as places shut quite early. Nothing. small hotel. Nothing. room size. walls very thin and could hear everything from the other room. Staff. Delux room was just so standard. Big thing was a TV in the mirror - not sure we went to watch Italian TV.
