Antica Casa Coppo is an historic Venetian residence 250 metres from Saint Mark's Square. Formerly the home of a wealthy merchant, it offers unique rooms with frescoed walls or ceilings and free Wi-Fi. Rooms at the Antica Casa are decorated with tapestries and some also feature exposed wooden beams on the ceiling. Each room comes with private bathroom and independent air conditioning. The continental breakfast includes hot drinks, pastries, jam and butter. It is available in the breakfast room with TV and bar, serving espresso coffee and fine wines.

The staff were warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The staff helped us with our luggage, which was certainly not expected, but very much appreciated. The hotel was beautifully presented and maintained, and helped give that feeling of antiquity that you get in Venice. We loved the home style continental breakfast served in the common room. We have already recommended Antica Casa Coppo to our friends.
all reviews » Lovely small hotel with friendly, helpful staff and in a quiet but central position. The hotel recommended best water taxi company to use, and made sure that although we arrived outside reception hours [1 pm] we could leave our bags safely and go for some lunch until 3pm when reception opens. We look forward to staying here again, and will be recommending Antica Casa Coppo to any friends coming to Venice. We couldn’t wish better for the romantic week-end! Very Venetian-like accommodation, at least as we imagine it. Great location - quiet place, yet really close to the most popular attractions, as well as stops of vaporetto (it was very important for us as we left at 3 in the morning). Very helpful, friendly and nice girl at the reception (we are sorry not to learn her name). The hotel contacted us in advance of our departure to find out our arrival time. Our room was ready within 15 minutes of our arrival, before the 3 P.M. published time. Spotlessly clean. Excellent, ample breakfast. The front desk even called to make reservations for us in Padua at Scrovegni Chapel. Very quiet location, large room, we wouldn't stay anywhere else!. This is the kind of place that provides a reason for visiting Venice. It was originally a house, and therefore does not provide some of the space that you might normally expect of a better hotel, e.g. a lounge area and large breakfast space. But the character more than compensates. And the location (once you find the place) is great. The hotel is centrally located. Close to all major sights. But still far enough to be quiet. Only a 5 mn walk from the Rialto Alilaguna public taxi stop when arriving from the Marco Polo airport. And also very close to the San Marco Square. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Wifi was free and worked very well. Location is Great! Receptionist Claudia is absolutely awesome - VERY friendly, nice helpful and English speaking. Brandusha - nice and smiley - she was making and served great breakfast, Rooms are small (which is normal for Venice) but very clean and comfortable. Restroom is clean as well. Nothing, it was perfect for our stay!. The only slight criticism is that breakfast wasn't served until 8 30, a little earlier would be good. Annoying sound from the bathroom at night, something like central ventilation. This is probably an issue common to Venice, but nonetheless...the bathroom was emitting a pretty foul odor by the second day, whether sewage or other drainage water hard to know. The beds were a bit soft. But again, worth it for the ambience and overall a decent value, we think. Breakfast is is served 8.30-10 am. Not a hotel for of early birds. Breakfast was simple and the dining room was small. Not all guests can eat at the same time. Don't really know what to say here... I liked everything. Mattress not overly comfortable, but it didn't keep us from sleeping after a long exhausting day of exploring Venice!. There was not a thing. The hotel was a bit hard to find the first time. But once we learned the layout of Venice, it was fine, and turned out to be a great location with easy access to venues, either by walking or by vaporetti. Room on the first floor is next to breakfast area, thus noisy in the morning. Staff was ready to change the room if required. Nothing. All was 100 per cent. We love everything about the hotel. It would be lovely to have had tea and coffee facilities in the room. As we had an early start for the airport, we missed breakfast so had to wait till we got to the airport before we could have a drink. Small room and did not get a change of towels. The room was very small and the bed was very hard. The breakfast room was too small for the amount of guests. There was a very distinct sewerage smell in our bathroom. Room was very small. Nothing really to fault,the room was small but for the location and price it was excellent. N.A. Bed!! (Too hard ) Thin walls ( can hear conversations in the next room ). Beds too soft, and noisy surrounding. Breakfast was just ok... Hard to find and get to and from on daily basis because of the convoluted streets, canals, bridges. No fault of the Hotel. The conditions were nothing like what expected. The room was supposed to be 20 sqm but turned out to be 12. Besides the bed, nothing else fit in the room, we had to toss our baggage in any empty corners we could find. I strongly not recommend this hotel for 177 eur rates. I was especially upset because I had written the hotel asking for the best room they had and the received room had been awful. The hair dryer out of order. We really missed not having any coffee/tea-making facilities in our room. There was no British TV channel available either. Luckily I had my ipad with me, so we kept up with world news this way! Breakfast room small with only six tables (there are 11 rooms at the hotel!)so you had to wait your turn! We were not wild about the tinned fruit on offer, and the bacon had not been cooked enough in our opinion, but otherwise the breakfast was ok!. Beds not that comfortable, particularly pullout. Room a bit small for 4. Difficult moving luggage up and down narrow staircase. Rooms are also small for putting luggage in any convenient spot. Appropriate for short stays only. there is no lift. No receptionist or room service after noon. You may need to ensure everything is fine and neat once after you check in. No boots and umbrella provided during flood. Distance very far and very hard to find the location. Very basic breakfast provided and limited food given for us. Not much facilities given. Good for some that only need to stay at night.The area near the hotel was flooded and we need to wet our shoes and trousers to get into the hotel.
