After three days in Rome, the crowds started to grate on our nerves, so we made like the wealthy Romans of ancient times and got the heck out in order to get some fresh air. We took the subway to Ponte Mammolo, and a ~50 min bus ride from there to Tivoli. Heading to Tivoli, and Catillo in particular, had to be one of the best decisions we made during our trip to Italy. A beautiful place to stay in Tivoli! Just minutes by foot from the Villa d'Este, it is a convenient walk to the Villa Gregoriana also. Plenty of shops and restaurants up in the town. Gianluca could not have been a more welcoming or helpful host. He texted us ahead of time with help on how to find our way.
