Location, staff. convenient.directions confusing. everything,the rooms were dirty dust everywhere, windows were filthy,dont think they had ever been used, excuse for an air conditioning unit that was full of bug and germ bearing dust, bathroom was awful the whole place had a seady air about it and I would not put my dog in it if it were a kennal.

Hotel information details

The hotel was recently renovated and combines unique surroundings with suggestive salons, elegantly furnished bedrooms with period furniture and paintings, old prints and Persian rugs.

A fascinating destination for an unforgettable holiday, this typical Sicilian home since 1892, belonged to the family of the famous English historian G.M. Trevelyan.

That year Villa Paradiso was bought from the ex-proprietor Florece Trevelyan Cacciola by the grandparents of the current owner, Mr. Salvatore Martorana. In 1914, it was transformed into the successful Hotel Garnì and since then became a favourite destination for Italian and foreign painters. In 1921 the establishment began targeting the new tourist markets of Great Britain, Germany, Central and Eastern Europe.

This new phase convinced Mr. Martorana to enlarge Villa Paradiso from 29 beds to 49. Unfortunately, at the beginning of World War II the hotel activity was blocked until 1943. The post-war renovation and the new hotel activity began in 1948/49. Luckily, Europe was slowly re-built and the tourist boom was not long following. The hotel Villa Paradiso is now even more fascinating and welcoming, just like a typical Sicilian home should be.

Important information to guests

The beach club is a 15-minute drive away and is available from 01 June until 15 October. In the event of early departure guest must pay the total amount of the remaining booked nights. Please note that the free car park only has 3 spaces. The tennis courts are available for a limited time each day and are subject availability.

Situated a few metres from the historical centre of Taormina, a stone's throw from the main street (Corso Umberto) and Congress Building, the hotel overlooks the Naxos Bay, the Etna Volcano, the public gardens and tennis courts, where you can enjoy 55 minutes a day of free playing.
