We couldn't have been happier with the Hotel Sirius. The location is great, with a short walk up into the centre of Taormina and just 2 minutes walk to the cable car down to the beach. (We preferred to take the path at the end of the road which was a very pleasant route down to the beach - although not very practical if you have pushchairs/small children perhaps). The location was also very quiet with views across to the Italian mainland. The hotel terraces cascaded with flowers and the air was.

If you can afford it book a superior room with a sea view we had a sun terrace to die for. The room wasn't large but the terrace made up for it. Breakfast was good plenty to eat and plenty to choose from and excellent service. There was always a good choice of dishes for evening meals, the menu was available every morning. We had booked under B and B with the choi. We have just returned from Taormina. We stayed in Hotel Sirius for 11 nights. The hotel is situated very close to town, but not too close as there was no noise from around whatsoever. You can use a cable car to get to the beach. Beach was nice and clean but people selling fake sunglasses and other stuff were extremely annoying as they passed you every 5 minutes, literally. I think they should not be allowed in the beach. Due to this we preferred staying next to the pool which was 4 meters deep. The location was excellent - just 10 mins walk from the centre / Via Corsa. Well kept garden around hotel made it pleasant, serene & great view over the sea / bay of Taormina. 5 mins walk to the cable car station (every 15 mins) down to the beaches. The pool was wonderful - very clean, relaxing, quiet (except the Sunday when it seemed to turn into a public pool). Comfortable room, serviced daily, quiet air con. Breakfast was varied and ample. Friendly, very helpful staff. We liked the extra. I stayed at Sirius Hotel in Taormina with a group of friends during for one night in August 2013. Had I known when I planned my trip how amazing this hotel was, I would have stayed for a week!! Everything about Sirius Hotel is FANTASTIC!! The view is phenomenal. The pool is beautiful. The women that attend the front desk are so kind, friendly and helpful! The pizza served at the pool is better than any pizza you can find in the United States. We stayed in a quadruple room which had plenty of sp. The pictures on the site look a bit shabby but in reality it is not actually that bad. The views from the dining area are amazing! Although our room did not have a sea view, it was still pleasant overlooking the pool. Very quiet and just across the road from the bus station so it is excellent as you do not need to carry your luggage far, and to go to the city centre you just go up the road! Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful and can speak excellent English. Views were fantastic. Not too far to walk into town - once you got up the hill - excellent choice of food for breakfast - did everything they could to help with parking - the car park is small and they are marvellous at fitting all the cars in. Free bus down to Letojanni was a bonus and to be honest the beach down there was far better than Mazzaro or Isla Bella due to it being the height of the season and the crowds! Hotel clean and reception staff helpful. The location is excellent, a 2 minute walk from the bus station and a 5 minute walk to the town centre. It's situated beautifully - overlooking the bay , so great views from the terrace bar particularly at night. It's quiet too. Our room (115) had it's own patio with table and chairs. All staff were very good and helpful, particularly Fabiloa at reception who's very welcoming, friendly and efficient.( Fabiolosa!). The location was ideal, very close to the town centre and the cable car station to the beaches. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast had great options. The view from our room, the restaurant and the swimming pool was exceptional. The walk up the driveway people mention was steep but nothing to complain about - well worth it for the location and nothing unusual for a place as steep as Taormina. Wonderfully renovated hotel on top of the hill in Taormina with a perfect view of the Strait of Messina. About 10 minutes walk from the town center and the Greek Theatre ruins. Ideal for city breaks and longer stay and perfect rest. Parking is limited but well-managed by hotel staff. Take your camera there with you!. We have just come from a short trip to Taormina and we stayed at Sirius Hotel. We recommend this hotel as it has excellent views over the mountain and over the sea, the room is clean and nice, we had a balcony where we could see the sea. The hotel is close to the centre of Taormina. The location and view of the hotel is amazing .. Right across the bus station (if you get there by bus from catania, no need for texi..) justa few min' walk from corso umberto wich is the city center . Nice pool and resturant . Location,city,staff,breakfast,room,etc. There was nothing that we didn't like about the Sirius but appreciate that the steep drive up to the road might be an issue for some people. The reception staff spoke super English which is great for non-speakers of Italian but as a fluent Italian speaker I found it somewhat frustrating to be answered in English - they weren't the only ones though! Please at least let us try to make an effort!. My only complaint is that the shower was VERY small made moving around difficult and with corner access difficult to get in and out without slipping. Should be rated 3* or 3* plus at a push (Sirius was less luxurious as all other 4* hotels we've stayed in). Likely to have been rated 4* due to location and pool. Star rating meant room cost (around £120 per night for a basic double/twin, with small balcony, no sea view) was excessive. Everything else was great!. The lift is the only thing that was a bit dodgy. And it has a bit of a weird entrance as you need to go down a steep slope and a flight of stairs before you get to reception. just the ramp from car park out of hotel - but its not too bad, just be prepared for a steep walk. Parking was an additional cost which could have been included in the price of the room. The breakfest was ok but it was the same every morning. The rooms were not very well isolated as we could here noise from the other room. The lady from the reception was not very thrilled when she heard that we a re from Romania. At check out, she charged us extra for the parking when we did not have any car in the hotel's parking. After we replied to such mistake, she gave us another bill but still not re. Very small bath room. The only small problem was that they didn't provide an iron and only an outside service was available. For less mobile guests the location would be a problem as even though the hotel is only a 5-10 stroll into the village, there are steep steps and a very steep drive to get out of the hotel onto the road. Patchy wifi coverage was the only downside. Nothing in particular. It's rather expensive, but then again, Taormina is an expensive location. Nothing in particular. There was nothing negative about the hotel. these were only small things: when we order a double we expect a double bed as two singles put together is not great. it is a bit of a climb up and down to hotel entrance. Our shower was on the small side. The hotel was hard to find in the car the first time. The GPS took us up some very narrow streets,and a Good Samaritan on a scooter kindly showed us the way to the hotel. The only English speaking TV channel we could get was CNN! We got pictures for BBC but not sound !!!!. the cost of cable car!. Shower too small. Thin walls and a hard bed which seems to be the norm in Italy. the driveway is a pretty steep walk, but would not stop me from staying there again. The spiralling driveway down from the road. Although after the first time it was OK! My friend ran to the top to ensure there was no-one coming the other way as you couldn't tell otherwise. Desk staff was very rude to us when we arrived, not at all welcomimg. Told us airconditioning was available when we checked in but then refused to turn on until we insisted. Problem was resolved next day. Not a thing. Poor breakfast, expensive rate for the overall quality of the hotel. Getting out of the hotel you have a steep walk to get to the front gate of the hotel. Everything was good. No Wi Fi in the room, despite being advertised as available - needed to go close to reception desk for signal. Tiny room - access to double bed from one side only (not good enough for tariff paid). Pictures of the actual room that you will get need to be very clearly displayed. Garden view is only the fence covered in creeper. Lifts very small. Breakfasts were good but very predictable. More choice of cooked breakfast would be an improvement. Breakfast could have more variety. The steep slope at the entrance. to access wifi you had to get a new code every day from reception. The mattress was not good, and plastics cups in the bedroom. The service at breakfast could have been more efficient. There were lengthy periods when some items were not available. parking is difficult, but probably this is the case in Italy at town centers. An uphill steep ramp to exit and a walk crowded with car traffic and no sidewalks to reach the city center. However, the worst part of the hotel was the outrageously overpriced bar. We stayed Capri at a 5 Star hotel and paid 6 Euros for a small bottle of Prosecco. At Hotel Sirius the cost was 12 euros.
