A charming, small hotel, Musciara Siracusa Resort is opposite Ortigia Island, facing the sea and a short stroll from a rocky beach. Beach loungers and parasols are provided for free. Musciara Resort is set in a former tuna fishery next to the Porto Piccolo marina and is decorated with marble and pillars. We loved Laura and her staff at Musciara Resort. They were professional and extremely attentive while also being warm and very approachable. Breakfasts (and lunch and dinner, if you wish) were delicious and served on the terrace right at seaside. We had travelled to Siracusa partly to make day trips to beaches to the south, but Musciara's beach is so clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view out to sea and Ortygia, that we could have spent all our time there and been very happy. This was....Paradise! An oasis of rest in the bustling life of Siracusa. Nice and friendly staff. Although only 3stars rated, it is worth a 5 star resort. The only one with a private beach, it was just great to start our trip there. For the boys they even could use a kayak which they enjoyed. Breakfast was amazing when comparing with Italy standards. The hotel is beatiful with a great view of the sea.The rooms are very confortable.The breakfast is delicious in the restaurant with the tables next to the sea. The decoration of the hotel has very good taste and the service is excelent. I really recoment this hotel. The location was second to none. The décor was really lovely and there were loads of comfortable seating areas. I think it is the perfect place to stay for doing the sites of Ortygia and Syracuse. The beach was just wonderful and clean. Price is worth a 5 stars. When eating at Musciara you do not know how much you are going to spend for your meal since you do not get a menu. The surprise is when you leave and you have to pay a big amount of money for good food but not worth that much. Example, 8 bruschettas for four +6 drinks (no wine): 89€. This was the only unpleasant thing. Leaving!. It is a bit away from any restaurants/bars - so you either have to drive or take a taxi. the rooms were very tastefully furnished - a little on the small side but you can hear sound from the neighboring rooms ie toilets flushing,footsteps,doors closing. No real access to information for touring/exploring Sicily. Needed to do our own. Expensive. Too frequent change of towels No drawers for clothes. The staff needed to be more cheerful, and we never new what we were paying for our beers, water that we were signing for while on the beach, they never put a price on the charge against the bill, so you had to wait until you checked out to find out what the cost was. Food menue was very limited, but quite nice.
