The hotel is set just outside the historic village of Savoca and is accessed via a narrow roadway along a steep mountain ridge. On arrival we were greeted by Vittoria the hotel's proprietor who offered us a drink and it took a cool glass of prosecco to calm my frayed nerves after threading the car through the narrow path to the hotel. all reviews » Borgo San Rocco is a truly magical place. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and we felt at home instantly. The staff and owners are so friendly, and helpful they make you feel a very welcome guest in their beautiful resort that they love as much as we did. The peace and quiet is amazing and the views are just beautiful. To sit on the balcony in the evenings as the sun goes down, listening to the church bells as the swallows swoop into the valley below is just heaven. We loved exploring. Beautiful location in the mountains. Picture perfect at every turn. Staff is very polite and helpful. Gave us great directions and advice on visiting sites like Mount Etna and beautiful beaches. Brogo San Rocco is simply wonderful. We stayed for two nights, and tremendously enjoyed the beautiful views, the outstanding hospitality of Vittorio and his staff, the excellent dinners and the extremely pleasant ambiance of the place. We highly recommend staying here instead of in touristy Taormina. It's well worth the challenging drive through Savoca's narrow streets - this place is a real gem!. Direction tip: leaving Sant'Alessio Siculo forget about your gps and follow the road signs to Savoca. If you find yourself on a tight, non paved road, turn around and follow the signs. Be prepared for the narrow steep road that leads up to the resort!. The road to the hotel is very narrow so make sure you drive a small car. The restaurant in the hotel did not offer a price list for beverages and spirits with the meal. Nor was it indicated if the tax or the coperto was included in the meal prices. You had no idea of how much the evening cost, there was no signing of a receipt nor was a price given when asked. Hair raising drive through the village narrow streets to get there. Nothing. Swimming pool is far from hotel. Hotel should offer a half board option for the restaurant. It is difficult driving to the area. Reaching the hotel by car is an adventure not for the faint at heart. Nothing.
