If you ever get a chance to stay here, ask for room 6....it comes with a shared balcoy that overlooks the Tuscan Hills and is an absolutely magnificent view. Add to this a superb in house restaurant that serves local cuisine that is to die for and is inexpensive, great wines and fabulous views and you,ve got one of the nicest hotel stays I,ve ever had. Great location, good staff it all made for a special stop. We booked for 2 nights but enjoyed it so much we changed our schedule so we could stay an extra day. Whilst San Gimignano is a tourist location and it is busy during the day but when the tourist head out the village becomes even more enjoyable.
all reviews » It was in the heart of San gimiagno. We had a lovely veranda with views that went on forever. The reception staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. The breakfast was good, the first time we had eggs during our 10 day travels. A perfectly lovely hotel in San Gimignano. Our room (and the restaurant) had breathtaking views and the room's decor and facilities were first class. The food was wonderful too - as good as we've had on holiday ever. Great location within the city walls but close enough to the gate and public car park. Spacious rooms and very helpful staff. Fabulous views over the Tuscan hills from the restaurant where you have breakfast. The location of hotel is perfect - the views from the back of hotel are absolutely breathtaking. If you stay here, you must request room at back with terrace or balcony. Hotel was very conveniently located, and staff were friendly. Need to park 150m away. no pool, but we knew that anyway. Not very easy to get luggage from parking area to hotel. It was our worst night sleep in Europe. The beds too small hard & the old elevator went up & down all night long clunking next to our heads. Terrible! I would not go back. When I said we couldn't sleep they said 'its old!'.
