Set along the SP370 road at at altitude of 270 metres, Il Borgo di Campi is located 4 km up from Riomaggiore within the Cinque Terre National Park. On clear days the views include the Tuscan Archipelago Islands and Corsica. Il Borgo is a former countryside hamlet surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. It was completely renovated preserving the local architecture. Simply furnished, accommodation overlooks the Liguran Sea. Each studio or apartment features a fully equipped kitchenette, a satellite TV, and a furnished garden or terrace. The restaurant serves delicious local dishes and wines. During pleasant weather meals are served on the panoramic terrace A public minibus service connects the Borgo di Campi with Riomaggiore. The schedule is available at reception, where scooters can also be rented. Free parking is available on site. To reach the apartments from reception, guests must go down a 200-step staircase with panoramic views.

We stayed eight nights at Il Borgo di Campi. While crowds of tourists invade the area in August, you can find a peaceful and calm place at Il Borgo di Campi. The panorama is magnificent. The stairs is definitely not exhausting and what is more an amazing sight appears before you from there. Moreover the staff takes down (up) packages to (from) the apartment by a trenino. The stuff who the owners are kind and helpful. The car park is not too big. Though there are dedicated places for the apartm.
all reviews » I loved my stay at Il Borgo di Campi. My husband, my parents, and I enjoyed two wonderful nights there last week. The views are unbelievable and the little cottages are quaint and have everything one could need. The restaurant was very tasty and not too pricey, and we really enjoyed chatting with the server. This is a great place to relax and enjoy breathtaking scenery, plus it was very easy to get down to Riomaggiore from the hotel. We did not have any issues with the bus and tickets for the b. Beautiful situation with a great view of the sea.We were pleased we stayed here instead of one of the 5 villages of the Cinque Terre.We had a car and were pleased that we didn't have to find car parking at the towns.We saw lots of people with their luggage struggling with the heat,tourists,uneven streets etc,trying to find their hotel in the towns.The bus to Riomaggiore went right past the complex which was great. The location was fabulous with breath-taking views. The cabins were cosy and clean and private. While the kids were disappointed that there wasn't a pool and the beach a hike to get to, they loved the activities - foosball, ping pong, bocce etc - and so had fun. We actually drove to Vernazza along windy roads and it was well worth it - very picturesque town and nice beach (and cheaper than the bus/train option). We absolutely loved the setting of this place! We had a small room on the side of an ocean cliff. Our room/building was below all the others so we had many steps to climb down, but is was well worth it. The view was stunning. We enjoyed our breakfast and dinner on the outside balcony. The room was small but the plus side was the kitchenette. It allowed us to cook our meals. Great hosts and a wealth of information for any question asked. Kitchenette wihtin the apartment made it economical. Restaurant on-site was a little pricey but the food was great. Being a family with 2 children (12 and 13), we had no problems navigating the stairs. Great views from our room and was very relaxing after a full day exploring the towns of Cinque Terra. The amazing views, large apartment, location, comfortable bed, clean room, traditional Italian villa. We had villa Glicine, and perhaps this was the best one? I cannot understand the negative reviews as I thought this place was pretty good for the price in the very over priced Cinque Terre. Great location for hiking. We thoroughly enjoyed the area and this was a good "home-base." There was an absolutely gorgeous view from our apartment. The terrace outside our apartment was a wonderful place to sit, relax, watch the sunset, and drink a glass of wine. Absolutely gorgeous view. Cozy and clean apartment. Free Parking. There is a lot of stairs to go but in my opinion i it is worth it. I spend there 2 nights and i think it is a good place to stay and visit cinque Terre. It is a family run resort, very friendly and helpful - an amazing project rebuilding the terraces running the hotel/cottages and the father following his passion for cooking in the restaurant in the evening. Older rooms but did the trick. We really enjoyed our stay. We had dinner on site also and it was lovely, great views and very good attentive and lovely waitor. Great views and well equipped kitchen. We were in the Erica apartment, but Erica’s garden was the front of another apartment a little bit far from the building without any panoramic view. The restaurant is closed on Monday. The air conditioning wasn't very efficient. I guess it struggled to cope with 40deg heat!. The restaurants - on site and close by - were a little pricey and so if you are on a budget and hope to cook for yourself, shop in La Spezia before you come as there aren't any supermarkets nearby other than a little Coop (and other speciality stores) in Riomaggiore, which can be hard/time-consuming to get to (car parking difficult and expensive). It was a tight space for the two of us, so if you want something spacious you'd be disappointed. Not too important, but the tv did not work for us. Our room was clean, but friends stayed in a room that smelled strongly of bleach. I knew about the 200 steps prior to booking, but it is a lot of steps when carrying luggage. Otherwise, the steps didn't hurt as they were wide and easy with beautiful flowers along the way. The bus doesn't run often so it made restaurant options limited, but the restaurant that's on site was good. one night there was no hot water, hope it was just beacause storm!. It is quite inaccessible unless you have a car. We thought we would be able to hike from the resort, but it is on the road 4K from Riomaggiore and hiking from Manarola was the best!. Alot of steps and signage was a bit hard to follow. Took us about 10-15 mins to find our rooms. No wifi was a bit annoying and parking is a long way away, out of sight and on the main road but was not a problem. Check in not til 3 so if you want to arrive early to gt walking maybe factor this in!. Very poor air con (were there during a heat wave). Info available was great but very hard to obtain from reception staff (not offered but when requested was freely given). The apartments are stacked rather closely. We were glad it wasn't full. - some gardens/apartments have better views than others - needs to be more explicit on the site. - More kitchen utensils would be helpful e.g. chopping board, grater for cheese. There should not have been any charge for Wifi. Being located far from the closet town, Riomaggiore, the local bus transportation was needed since there is not any parking In town. could be more specific on the website regarding services. as they consider themselves renting cottages rather than a hotel, no soap,shampoo or toilet paper is provided other than your first day and no maid service for clean towels during your stay regardless of how long you are there. The wifi was not very good and was in limited locations. The location in general was not close to town and one must rely on a bus to get into town. without a car is a bit complicated to reach the town if you loose the regional bus with ow frequencies. By night you have to stay in place (it could be marvellous anyway by nice weather). The bathroom towels did not dry and were not changed daily. The kitchen hot water container to make coffee was not clean to use. Local transportation is a little erratic but that's no reason not to stay here. The hotel doesn't have a family pass for Cinque Terre so buy it At the Tourist booth as it included the bus. Otherwise it's E2 per person. 1.The bus service connecting the hotel to La Spieza or Riomnaggiore is very infrequent. So it is a bit inconvenient if you do not have a car. 2. One of the ladies at the reception was somewhat rude... I had my driving license as my identity card, but she refused to accept it as my id card, even though it has worked just fine in other hotels. She even refused to look at it properly! However, the other lady at the reception was very polite and helpful. I wish we had been warned about the 170 or so steps to reach our room. We would have left our heavy suitcases in storage somewhere. What makes the unique beauty of the place almost killed us. - Furniture quite used (but still ok). Definitely one should not expect luxurious surprises. Location nOt marked clearly enough. The gps comes up with business about 30 meters from the place. Then the gate was locked and it had no sign " we will be back ---- minutes or come find us at cottages below, we are cleaning. Or something to that effect. A bit more signage would be helpful. Because Il Borgo di Campi is about 5 km from the nearest village it is difficult to get anywhere without a car. The shuttle bus system helps but it would be great if it came more frequently. Nothing. The bus to Cinque Terre only carries 17 people and runs just a few times each day, so you don't want to be last in line to get on. Nothing!. Nothing. The heating didn't work and it was a bit cramped. the stairs and a little way out of town. you need to wait for teh bus that doesn't come too often. Shuttle bus service is poor. Limited bus schedule if you need to take it from town to hotel. The 630 bus was crammed and some had to wait for next bus an hour later. Only runs six times a day. no good view from windows of unit. A lot of steps up the hill, difficult to up your luggage. Access to Riomaggiorre was limited to a park bus with only 17 spots on it. People had to get pushy to get on, they had no idea of what a line is. Hotel would do better to offer transport for a few euros, a lot less stress and wasted time would be the result! It was only 4km away. a little isolated. The climb to our room with luggage is difficult. The stairs...(200).
