  Out of all the different options we had, we (3 friends) chose an apartment managed by Biriola Holiday - mainly because of the huge number of positive reviews. Communication with the manager, Matteo, was excellent and he was very friendly and helpful with everything - not to mention all the great insider tips he had for us! We were glad to be there in the low season, when Cala Gonone is almost empty (i.e. no tourists), - We traveled to Cala Gonone as a young couple and found Residence Biriola very easy to find. Upon arriving we were greeted by Bruno, the elder statesman of the residence, who was quite simply charming. He took us around, showed us the garden at the back and told us we could help ourselves to the fresh herbs and chillis. We were the only people by the hot tub in the grounds most of the time so felt like a private garden (but with to-the-sun-lounger bar service) lovely staff, very close to the great restaurants in the old town - 5 mins walk along the pretty sea front. There is parking as well that isn't made obvious when booking. - Villa Mosca is a beautiful hotel with very comfortable and clean rooms. We stayed in the Comfort room in the attic as this was the only room available and it was perfect for us. The decor is simplistic and luxurious and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The best point is it is in a great location right by the sea and walking distance to the town and restaurants and bars.

  I really liked the location even though you need a car to get around. There are very good restaurants nearby, great sandy beaches. I liked privacy in the appartments, they are well equiped (except for missing bed sheets and towels which you have to pay for).   My girlfriend and I spent several days staying here in September 2013. As many others have said, Alessandro and Monica are wonderfully hospitable and helpful. To put this into context, down the years I have travelled to well over 100 countries, staying in all manner of accommodation from 5* hotels to backpacker hostels. I have been to Italy alone ... what people say » around 15 times. And in all that time worldwide, I cannot think of better, kinder hosts. We were supposed to be self-catering but Monica brought us de - Il Sogno is in a stunning location, very peaceful, with lovely accommodation and a beautiful pool area. Alessandro is a mine of information and will advise on the best beaches and places to eat - and his wife will bake you the most beautiful cake and bread! Wonderful hosts and wonderful location, what more could you ask for!! I would recommend to anybody looking for a beautiful retreat in the countryside with a quick car journey into Alghero town.

  We were very lucky to stay in this two bedroom/bathroom apartment alone. Our arrival was very efficient. We called Manuel who arrived in a few minutes. There is a designated undercover car space and lift to the apartment. The view from the balcony over the city is great and the flamingos fly over each evening at sunset.
