  I first visited Positano 2 years ago. The location of the Savoia is perfect. The family that runs the hotel, and in particular Claudia, are wonderful and very knowledgeable. One truly gets a feel for the region when staying at the Savoia. The breakfast is plentiful and the variety is excellent. The hotel is close to the center, so it's easy to get... what people say » to the beach for sunbathing, shopping or taking the ferry. The local bus stops almost directly in front of the hotel. This will be my hotel of choice - The hotel was nicely located and easy to get to by cab. You were able to get dropped off right in front of the hotel by car. If you come by boat, you would need to take the steep walk up to the hotel, though porters are readily available to take your luggage. The staff was very helpful and even called our next hotel for us to ask a few questions. The room was clean and nicely decorated and we had a partial view of the water. We were very - I just was so impressed with the warm, friendly helpful and attentive service . Nothing was too much trouble. We were given a delightful classic room with magnificent view . We loved being away from the overwhelming crowds in Positano itself ,yet able to be shuttled there whenever we pleased. We are looking forward to returning.

Specifically Linda from Villa Rosa was fantastic and gave me all required information about places to see, ferry travel and also about my travel back to Rome from Positano. She was great at her job!
