Porto Empedocle is a good alternative to staying in Agrigento. It gives a visitor a small town experience in Sicily--very different from the cities. In the evening the whole town turns out in the cafes and the pedestrian Via Roma. Very good restaurants as well. A public bus provides easy access to the Greek temple site. It's the town where the playwright Pirandello grew up as did the mystery novel writer Camilleri whose main character is a policeman in a town like Porto Empedocle. all reviews »
B&B is located in a quiet area near the central street only 2 min on foot. The rooms are spacious and the quality of furniture is good. Clean. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff, who surprised us with pleasant attitude and wonderful breakfast (we got ham, hot croissants, wonderful cappuccino). We liked this hotel best on our 7-day trip around Sicily. I strongly recommend to stay here.
Really friendly lady. She did not speak english but did her best to take care of us and was so proud to tell she was going to take english classes in october. The place an breakfast was really great. Nice room. Location was not great but for me perfect as i lik to avoid the touristic hotspots.
