We stayed 4 nights and the staff were very helpful, and were particularly obliging when we wanted to change our room (personal reasons) - they really wanted to ensure that we were happy.   Great find! Hotel is located in best section of town, within short walking distance of Port and downtown. A must if you have a car; parking in Palermo is all but impossible. Off-season rates were very competitive. - I thought that my stay was very pleasant. i liked the room and the staff were very helpful

The area did appear rather dodgy but in reality was not although you have to factor in the noisy locals that gather in the square below.
