Our stay at Dreaming Palermo was amazing.
First of all the owner Francesca is really nice and makes you feel very welcome. She tries to help you with all the questions you have and answers her messages and e-mail very quick. Besides that she speaks English very well, so the communication is very easy.
She also prepared a list with nice restaurants and places to go for sicilian specialties together with a map. Very nice to have some places to start from! And to have some places that you may not. all reviews »
Good size apartment, well appointed with all the cooking facilities
needed, lovely owner, we pointed out there didn't seem to be a
kettle and she immediately supplied one (and some yummy cakes) and was
very friendly. Nice large living room with amazing view of the harbour.
Convenient location, literally straight down Via Abramo Lincoln from the
main station (where trains and coaches can be found to all parts of
Sicily, look in the surrounding streets as well for coaches as we took
one to Agrige.
Historic apartment in the old part of Palermo within walking distance of all the important sites. Do not expect a Holiday Inn, when you will get frescoed walls and vaulted ceilings in an apartment within the old city walls over the gate where Lady Hamilton used to meet Nelson! The apartment owner is a Palermo aficionado and history buff. He gave us a fantastic tour of his beloved city and many of its important palaces in various stages of renovation.
It is an apartment with a kitchen, not a B&a.
Large apartment with nice kitchen, living room, which you can actually live for a long period. You really feel like a local living there, not like a tourist separated from the real life of Palermo. The Ocean side park is just a 3 minute walk, which you can also see from the room. The restaurant recommended by the hotel manager, just across the Kalsa Plaza, was really nice and had good local fish, in the Sicilian style. The botanical garden is also a 3 minute walk and relaxing to walk.
The nicest apartment we booked during our 2-week trip to Sicily.
Perfectly situated and equiped with the great view on Piazza Kalsa and
a port with access to see coast and the old town. It offers incredible
atmosphere of an old, roomy building in the heart of historic town.
Another great asset of the Dreaming Palermo is Francesca - the
property manager who is extremely well prepared information-wise, nice
and very helpful.
Location was brilliant, apartment so spacious & comforatble.
Francesca was so lovely & welcoming, she had great recomendations
for the city too. Her apartment was beautifully decorated & felt
like home away from home. I wish we could have stayed longer. She's
the best host ever :-).
The apartment we liked. Very spacious apartments that can accommodate
even 5 people. The apartment had everything you need: a hair dryer,
iron, air conditioning, television. The kitchen is fully equipped.
Francesca the hostess is very nice and responsive.
Apartment is incredibly big, very nice view from the balcony. Francesca is extremely nice person, very kind, friendly and helpful. Her suggestions about cousine, the places where to eat and what to visit were very helpful.
Wonderful setting in medieval part of town with views over a square and church and across to the sea. Great places to eat nearby and to buy fresh bread fruit, fish and veg. Very warm welcome and lots of useful information.

Excellent location in Old part of city with easy walk to city centre. Good outlook over square and harbour with many surrounding restaurants and mini mart and bakery.
The installations were great, the rooms were very clean, and the house
was enormous, with a lovely terrace, which had a view of Palermo. Great
value for money.

Spacious apartment.Giovanni the owner was very hospitable and freindly.
The apartment was on the second floor so there were 46 steps to climb
and as I have arthritis I found them a bit challenging but we planned
our days so we only did them once. The tv was in the bedroom so we would
have liked a radio or cd player in the living room.
No WiFi, but a coffee with free Internet access nearby.
Not easy to find, since it is not a normal Hotel Type, with a Sign outside. It is a collection of Apartments in several buildings. So you arrive and call the hotel manager, Francesco, who will take care of the checkin.
Some opinions say it is noisily. Actually it is not. Taking into account
its age and location in the very heart of the Palermo downtown you can
expect sounds of the living city day and night. If you want silence, you
better head to the countryside!.
No negatives really except for the tiny bit of damp/mildew on the
lounge roof that kinda let the place down only a tiny bit (I feel like
I'm being too anal).
Do not like only one: street is very noisy. In the evening commute a lot
of motorcycles, cars, noise youth. In the morning around 6 bells of the
church in the Piazza Kalsa.
Driving in Palermo is nerve racking and street directions/signs non-existent in places. Being woken by peel of bells every morning at 7.00, then 8.00 and so on was mixture of pleasure and pain!.
We found traffic noise intrusive at night.
We had booked a room (which turned out to be an apartment, which
wasn't clear for us upon booking) with a sea view. Francesca, the
manager, gave us another one instead, claiming it was much better.
Although it had an extra room, and was quite nice, we had booked a room
with a view, which wasn't delivered (Francesca blamed letsbookhotel.com
for the misunderstanding). Once at the address we had initially been
given, we had to wait for Francesca to pick us up in a scooter.

Location was very noisy through the night and day with traffic and the locals.
