First of all the excellent service. The owner Giuseppe is very friendly and helpful and although it is a little hotel, there is always someone at the reception where you can leave your keys, even at night. The breakfast is also nice.When we had to leave too early for a day trip, the owner gave us some croissants so that we could eat them in the train. We also appreciated a lot the minibar which was refilled every day with drinks, fruit and yoghurt. There is also a coffee machine and biscuits in.
all reviews » When we arrived to the hotel were wondering why it has so many positive evaluations - on the first sight nothing special - the hotel is just one floor in a standard building (not really nice), the room and the bathroom were standard... But! We were nicely invited by a smiling, friendly Italian man (even though it was 00:05), the breakfast was served very nicely with unlimited glasses of juice (3 different types) by another smiling friendly Italian man who has also drawn a complete picture of th. The friendliness of those who run it. The hotel is decorated throughout with large prints of Matisse and others. Each bedroom has a mini-bar with free snacks and drinks and also a coffee machine. Just a few minutes' walk away is the Opera House in the vicinity of which is a modestly-priced restaurant used by locals and an excellent wine-bar. The hotel is easily reached in a few stops by bus 101 from the Central Station or by a few minutes' walk from an airport bus-stop by the Politeamo Theatre. We stayed for 3 nights in December at the start of our Sicily trip and 1 night at the end of it. The proprietor, Giuseppe, was very welcoming and keen to make us feel at home. The room had a coffee maker and and a fridge containing water, soft drinks, fruit and yogurt. This was all included in the room price. The breakfast too was very good. The location is very good for the airport bus and for exploring Palermo. I would happily revisit this hotel. The hotel is very clean and bright. All facilities work. It's located in the center of Palermo, right near Politeama theater and great location for walking tour of the city, acess to train station and airport bus stop. Giuseppe marked a walking route of the city for me to explore. I will definately book Hotel Ariston when I visit Palermo next time. No regret. I was in room #1 facing the street and was a bit noisy, but the room was plenty roomy. The owner and the nighttime guys are great. So friendly and work very hard. Room is clean and a good size. Bathroom is also bigger than normal. Although on the 6th floor, there is a functional lift. Giuseppe would even make me an espresso during the day. For parking.....there are two local lots. Just make sure you communicate with the worker how long you will stay. I paid 18 Euro for 40 hours. The owner, Giuseppe, was very attentive, kind and helpful. It was very much appreciated to find water, cola, yoghurt and fruit in the fridge. Also a proper coffee machine and biscuits - and at no charge! The Continental Breakfast was also first class - including proper coffee and fresh croisants. The bathroom had a large shelf for our toiletries. Excellent value together with little touches, such as being told to help yourself to the drinks and fruit in the fridge free of charge. Ariston is a friendly family run hotel. Bed was very comfortable and room was nice and quiet. Hotel is close to bars, restaurants & shops. Also hotel is near the bus to and from the airport (Politeama stop). The host was very friendly and helpful and was always available to give advice and answer questions. While the room and bathroom were basic, they were clean and comes with what you need. Location is fantastic, being close to city centre and airport bus stop. Free drinks and breakfast is a plus. Everything in this Bed & Breakfast is fine. Despite the hotel being on the 6th floor there is some street noise - but this is to be expected in a busy city like Palermo. Once I found the hotel location with sign on the street I had no idea which floor of the hotel was located. They'll buzz you in but no sign of any floor sign once you get to the elevator. I went up and down the elevator and asked the locals. It would be nice if there were sign on elevator buttons. It was #6 floor. I rated "good" for the facilities catagory for this reason. Other than that this place was perfect for me. Limited breakfast but free food in the rooms makes up for it. The steep step down from the shower. Personal preference would have been a more varied breakfast over the 12 days we were there. Although an external sign, the entrance to the hotel is not obvious and there is no lobby at street level. An old style lift is available to reach the 6th floor. our bathroom had the loudest toilet I have ever heard in my entire life. walls in the entire B&B are thin, so if you are a light sleeper, this may not be the place for you. I thought the bed was kind of hard but my wife liked it. nothing. Nothing. Parkingbox was 10 minutes walk from the hotel and costs 10 euro a day. The staff didn't speak English but friendly. I was bitten all over by mosquitos which I noticed two days later. The hotel is on the 6th floor and no directing signs/. Bed was very hard Breakfast was very basic. Frugal breakfast. Smelly and noisy plumbing system; noise from a nearby bar.
