Absolutely charming. The building has a lot of character and history. I Loved the fact that only some areas are renovated so you can still see its age. The room was huge and very comfortable. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Location couldn't be better, right in the heart of historical Naples. The highlight for me was the breakfast room, a real palace room with a very nice variety of traditional and classical music, played softly. Generally music in breakfast rooms can be very poorly chose.
all reviews » The best asset of this hotel is the staff who were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very well-appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was typically continental, with a lot to choose from. It was served in a fabulous baroque dining room. We wanted to explore the historic centre of Naples and this hotel is well-located to do so. It was nice to return to our air-conditioned room after lunch and spend a few hours out of the afternoon heat before going out again to explore in the early . The staff at this hotel were superb! The best, 24-7, period. We found the hotel to be historically charming, the room was extremely clean and very lovely, if small. The bed was very firm, which could be a plus or a minus, depending on your preference. Our room was very quiet. The location was very interesting; rather hidden away with good access to shopping and located near a music university, which provided some cultural interest to the immediate area. Staff were very friendly specially Carlo & Aliana. They were very helpful in suggesting places & direction. The place is few steps from Piazzas & markets. The area is very Antique were you can see bazars & shops. Also, the center of tour trips. There is a library with books about Napoli & the dining hall with yummy breakfast choices. I would definetly recomend it for young peole who likes to walk & enjoy sightseeings.,. - Location of the hotel just off the main street and right in the centro storico is fabulous. - Breakfast is buffet style with enormous choice. - All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, particularly Carlo on Reception and Antonio in the Breakfast room. - See my negative comments...we found Naples to be one of the friendliest, happiest places we have ever been to! The shower drain was clogged and the basin shallow so it overflowed; it took two attempts to get it adequately addressed, but then it was fine. - The entrance to the hotel appears intimidating to say the least - it is dark and comprises either a small lift or four flights of stairs in a crumbling stairwell. Maybe, a little renovation would be good for the unforgettable dining room, especially for the seiling. But it does not spoil the whole impression. In room 201 there are no hooks in the bathroom for damp towels/night wear Also there was a very dirty looking wc in the disabled toilet area which would have been better locked. The entrance is alarming and the place was difficult to find (in the courtyard up a small, one way alley). Breakfast variety is limited. The smell of drains coming from the bathroom...at times quite strong. However, the location of the hotel in the oldest part of Naples probably means that the sewer system finds it difficult to cope!!. the Elevator of the building is dark, hard to find. No outside areas. You are a tiny big stuck in the historical part of Naples and need to take taxis as soon as you want to leave that erea. 1) Quite hard to find the hotel, but OK once you had 2) Lack of cupboard space, although most rooms had more than us. The staff did not readily provide information about the area upon checkin but did answer questions when asked. no car park, access with car very difficult (thick streets, satnav didn't find easily the road). no power socket ine the room. Hotel located in likely not one of the most attractive sector of Naples. The scruffy lift door downstairs. Rooms were a bit uncomfortable, the first was noisy, small, and had no drawers or counterspace, a/c was hard to control. Nothing. 1. Entrance in the hotel was unpresentable 2. Bad water drains in the shower. The wifi only works in the reception or lounge areas. In the rooms it is always dropping out. One of the towels in our room was so frayed it had holes in it, and the bath/shower did not have a shower curtain, meaning after showering you needed to mop the floor. Room not as advertised in Internet photos. barely any furniture in room , advertised as Executive room. Only one chair/ no table/ no desk nowhere to sit and relax unless on bed. Air Conditioning was not working at all the couple days i was there. Staff attempted to fix.... howver room temp stayed at 26/27 in the heat of Summer. Very uncomfortable. Location Poor WiFi coverage 'War torn' neighborhood. Room was smaller than I booked, ıt was also room for disableds. when ı was checking out ı complained about the situation. Although, they made a 15 percent discount, ı didnt pleased of staying three person in a small room. By the way the reason I booked in this hotel was large triple room they show in the booking com.. Access to the hotel is poor and would not be recommended for people who have walking difficulties. We were advised that works were ongoing in the building and offered an alternative that seemed nice. We finally stayed there because it was easier than change the initial plans for our party( other family members with little children were to join us) but were disappointed by the state of repair of the whole building. I don't think that it would be allowed paying guest or get Hotel status in our country. Staff had attitude that they were doing you a favour Breakfast was stale everyday and if you were not early enough you would miss out on items because they were not replenished until the next day. I will never go back to Naples again... dirty, graffitti, dangerous. The hotel is in an ugly area and very run down. Air conditioning didnt work well and the hotel needs major updates. Not sure why this hotel got some great reviews, but, thank goodness, we only stayed in Naples one night. We love all of Italy, but will never return to Naples...if I could give a suggestion to anyone planning a trip to that area...stay in Praiano or Positano, its soooo beautiful and friendly.
