The family owners are wonderful and most accommodating, and have created an elegant country inn where relaxation just happens. The only interruptions to the peaceful setting where the occasional church bells or livestock communicating from a farm off in the distance. Rooms was small and modern with a spectacular view of the courtyard and the ancient but active town of Moncalvo rising above the rooftop on a hill about a mile away. Food and wine are top notch, though breakfast was limited but of.
all reviews » Superb! Best hotel I we stayed in the last decade. Great staff, high level of hospitality, personal attention. Rooms very nice en clean, we had the room with jacuzzi, very nice. Good beds and linnen. Swimming pool attended, nice garden and terace to have aperitive and salumi. Restaurant highly recommended, about 10-12 tables, good variaty, risotto, lamb, salumi, zabbaione and of course the great wines from the family vineyard. We all loved it and they can abolutely be proud of what they have bu. Attention to detail is what this property offers. It was exceptional, beyond my expectations and larger than most country inns in the nearby vicinity. Most of the staff understood English and accommodated my needs. Delicious food, local wines in stock connected the Inn to the countryside. The staff provided requested information , but were discreet when we wanted privacy. The staff in this hotel are second to none. We had a wonderful wine tasting on the lawn one evening, followed by a delicious meal in the hotels restaurant. The rooms are spacious, the shower was powerful, the bed was clean and firm. The owners make a delicious wine called Penelope that you simply have to try, not once or twice, but at least four bottles. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. We used it as a base to visit other areas but it was in a beautiful setting as well. The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was excellent. Chiara suggested some great places to visit and even arranged a wine tasting for us in Barolo. It was a quiet and relaxing place to stay with good facilities. Wonderful! Bikes shown in the promotion were really not an option. We had an issue with the bed creaking otherwise everything was fine. The stay was perfect in all respects, with the exception of the weather... Absolutely nothing!. The place is borderline big enough to have a gym, but they haven't. Not a big deal but the only slight negative if trying to think of one... hard mattress, menu selection limited. Wouldn't change a thing. actually, almost nothing. This is a very good place. May be just a more charming decoration in the room, current decoration a bit cold. The tiny TV in the room. Little not to like but the shower set up was not the best. No Spa or Wellness. They serve dinner inside, but it would be nice to have to have the option to have dinner outside. It looks all a bit formal and comparing how friendly the staff is, it feels a bit strange from time to time. We had a great time though, so these are not didn't likes, but observations. Nothing. quite pricey. paying for a towel for the pool dated room furnishings bad beds.
