Wonderful people who are so accomodating and kind. The room was beautiful , elegant, clean and warm, the location of the hotel was perfect in the charming historic center. They were so flexible when I had to change the dates. I recommend this hotel to EVERYBODY who goes to Lucca. I have stayed there 3 times, once with my husband, once with our children and once with my older parents. Each time we were happy and well served. the fact that there is no breakfast is not a problem since there are so.
all reviews » We stayed in old part of hotel. Had just been freshly painted and was spotlessly clean. Brilliant location close to cathedral and very quiet. Had been told old part didn't have air conditioning, but it did and it worked efficiently. Room was modest, but cleaned each day and better than we had expected, given its 2 star status. Would definitely recommend it. Really friendly and helpful staff. Air con excellent and quiet. Superb location for accessing Lucca walls and centre. If you time it right you can get a blue marked parking space very close for less Euro overnight than the Hotel charges. Very good value for an overnight stop near Pisa Airport but away from Pisa. The staff were really helpful and friendly pointing out various places to eat and how to get there. The location is excellent walking distance to the centre of Lucca and most sights. It is also walking distance to the train station. It was great to have good quality wifi in the room. I really liked the friendliness and service of the staff. One of them walked us half way through town with our luggage, because the taxi couldn't reach the hotel because of the marathon. And I thouht the hotel had a nice young atmosphere. We traveled around for 10 days, this was our favourite hotel. The staff were very helpful. Printing my boarding cards and helping with places to eat and things to do. Highly recommend. location was ideal and room was comfortable, well furnished and nicely designed. the initial receptionist, during email contact and check in, was helpful and knowledgeable. No major snag but a pain if you are pulling heavy bags in steaming heat!. The only problem I had was I was close to the front door and there was a problem with the closer on the door so it would make a noise when it slammed. I made one of the staff aware of it and he thanked me for my comments and said he would look into how to fix it. A the follow up receptionist was aloof, and had no knowledge about city/regional bus info and airport connection. 'I don't know because I don't use them'. B WIFI connecting was complicated and reception weak. the second day it failed all together. C total lack of international channels on the tv...boring. Poor wifi signal. Didn't include breakfast. Hundreds of tv channels but none in English ..well it is Italy after all. For check-in had to find nearby hotel to register and get key and directions were misleading. No in house reception. In all it took about 25 minutes to access the room. Room was OK but the building was recently refurbished and choice of dark colour scheme gave it a dark and gloomy atmosphere. Depressing. We were in the newly opened annex and I found it cold and damp and very difficult to open the outer door. Other than that the room was very comfortable. We stayed on the ground floor near the front door. Huge slamming of the front door when people streaming from or to the hotel. Needs fixing. Could hear people talking in the corridor. Very noisy. Avoid the ground floor. Rooms were cold, no heating at all! Rude personnel.
