We sat on our balcony and listened to the sea. Poetry poured through us, and we were there for the harvest full moon. Dinner was delicious. Room was large and very clean. Bed was very comfortable and we got our wake up call.ocean views were amazing....trendy, stylish rooms were great!. Location, price - value relation, friendliness of staff. The facility is excellent!.
all reviews » We stayed only one night at Aran Blu, but the ease and comfort of the hotel and staff was perfect. The clean modern setting was just what we needed.the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was very good. great location, close to airport, modern and clean facilities. The sound of the waves through the bedroom window. atmosphere and kindness of staff. Room was great and lighting was wonderful. I was able to read with the beside lighting and my husband was able to sleep. nice design and nice room - very clean - well located. Rooms were brand new, very clean. Excellent views. location to area shops, restaurants and sea. I liked the comfortable and well shaped room as well as the hotel itself. The area arround is nice. The best place to stay if you have early flight, no wonder its my fourth time in your hotel since you opened it. location very good. Staff could be more helpful.Last time the bar was closed. slow service. The hand towels are not suitable they are only good for drying hands and aren't suitable for using after washing ones hair if you have long hair. The bed spreads and the blankets are pilled and rough feeling. My preference is that there be a sheet above and below the blanket and no bed spread. It gives a better appearance of a fresh bedding. These are minor dislikes and others may not mind. Restaurant/Bar area basic. We asked for directions to the airport the night we checked in, then again in the morning. The two directions were totally different, the second set being accurate. The daytime desk staff is very rude, not helpful and did not pass along important messages. The staff would never recommend restaurants other then their own. Bar staff was extremely charming and friendly and made up for lack of service at the reception desk.Local knowledge of the receptionists was poor, so was their service attitude. For example, they did not know about the supermarket that was less than a kilometer away and gave us wrong information about local restaurants' opening hours. only two towels,no beach towels, 3 days bed linen was not changed. after many remindings there were changed on 3rd day.Breakfast was frugal.Nothing to do in hotel.staff non-helpful. staff was not super friendly or welcoming. bar not open in hotel in the evening. Although close to the airport, the traffic is bad, so still allow lots of time to airport. Was that a bedspread, or an old sack?. Obliged to take taxis to get anywhere outside Ostia in a reasonable time frame. No information/maps etc in English. No-one spoke English very well. The carpets were dirty and the room smelled like smoke. Staff was a bit abrupt, not very helpful or particularly friendly. In the service industry I think this is important. coldness of desk staff. Most of the staff was very kind, one front desk person wasn't very friendly, the menu could have had more to offer. Carpet was dirty.Wifi only available in the lobby. TV was not working. I think the unpoliteness of the manager roots in his lack of speaking English. Not a lot to do in and around.....very expensive, food over priced, too far from town, most of the staff did not make us feel welcome. The staff was variably friendly and not helpful. The woman we initially encountered was not very accomodative or responsive. The parking was ackward and the staff wasn't responsive to help with it. Our bill wasn't prepared when we were ready to leave. The internet which we paid for 24 hours didn't work the last 12 hrs it should be free!. noisy (inside). An airport collection service was offered but 6 phone calls and over anhour of waiting before our driver turned up.Room too small, very little wardrobe/cupboard space and no facilities like team making or an iron. We had travelled a long way and wished to iron our clothes but reception told us that it was dangerous!! Every hotel from Meridien, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, etc etc provide this service. So we went out for dinner in crushed clothes. Also, it would have been veryy helpful to have had a kettle/cups in the room for the early morning cup of tea without having to go down to the breakfast room.dirty...and a bit expensive...no coffee making facilities in the room.. When I arrived the woman on reception never even said hello or greeted me in any way. In fact she was incompetant. She gave me a key to a dirty room and then a key to a smoking room when I had asked for a non smoking room. When I told her that I would at least expect a 'hello' she said she was 'tired'. Not acceptable for a '4' star hotel.Likely the worst restaurant that I have ever been to!. The hotel staff was very unpolite and arrogant.....
