We booked Albergo Bonvecchiati but were transferred to the sister Hotel 1 min away Palazzo Bonvecchiati. This Hotel is a 4 star but was a 5 star by our standards. This is my second visit to the wonderful hotel and it will not be my last! The location is amazing, only 1 bridge to cross with your suit case from the water stop, situated minutes from San Marco and the Grand Canal. As a solo traveller I walked back to the hotel well after midnight, to a warm and welcoming reception. Nothing is too much trouble

The staff were just brilliant, welcoming, friendly, helpful and they even kept their cool when our 5 year old spilt her yoghurt over their beautiful carpet at breakfast. The room was top class and very comfortable for a family of 4. The motel is in a top spot so close to all the action. P.S don't be put off by the alleyway entrance. We were initally concerned it was going to be a dinghy place but we were pleasantly surprised.

The staff were most helpfull from the moment we arrived till the day we left. I would point out one member of staff, unfortunatly I dont have his name, he works on reception, very smart and I do know he is 19 year of age, management should keep an eye on him he will go far in the leisure industry - The hotel was fantastic, not only did they upgrade
