The staff were very helpful, attentive and accommodating. Isabella, Fabio and the other ladies on the reception were always kind and professional and recommended alternatives when the weather did not allow us to do what we had planned to do. The first impression when we found the Hotel tucked away in an alley way off one of the main and busy shopping streets/strips was how quiet it was and how well we were looked after. all reviews » Wonderful bed and breakfast place. The owner Isabella is wonderful and very helpful in giving tips for your stay. This place is newly renivated and clean. Great hospitality from ckeaning, kitchen and front desk staff. The location is less than a 10 minute walk to the major La Spezia train station, and also to the docking station to take the boat to Porto Venere and Cinque Terre cities. Shopping is literally on the same street for when you want to take a break from the coastal cities. Great location in central La Spezia; easy to get to train to Cinque Terre. Isabella very helpfully gave me all the details for parking ahead of time. The breakfast is good; they've added a buffet with some sweet cakes, hard-boiled eggs, and ham as well as muesli or corn flakes. I recommend the salty option, as that comes with ham, salami, cheese and a small roll as well as juice, yogurt, and your choice of coffee/tea/hot chocolate. A hit with the kids and parents both!. The hotel managers, Isabella and Fabio were the best we have encountered. They were genuinely concerned and interested in making our stay delightfully. I easy even greeted by my first name on arrival. The hotel is quiet and centrally located close to the La Spezzia train station making it easy to travel to Cinque Terre by ferry or train. March 2013. The rooms are functional and cosy, the staff is friendly and the location could not be better. Close to Cinque Terre (train) and Porto Venere (car). Comfortable room in quaint but well-run small hotel, set back from main pedestrian mall. Very helpful advice from Carla at the hotel about things to see and places to eat. This is a small hotel. We enjoyed its cosy setting. Breakfast is simple but done with heart. Staff is helpful and friendly. Thanks for allowing us late check out on last day to accommodate our train schedule. the lady in reception is nice although her english is not well but warm-heared. The breakfast was nothing special. On one morning we were even refused a second cup of coffee. The only problem is wifi. Not able to connect from our apartment. Even to use our phones to make calls. We jad to go out of the apartment. That needs improving. I did not like leaving!. The breakfast room closes at 10am, no discussions. I had asked for a double bed months in advance, and confirmed the bed again a week before arrival, but the bed was in fact two singles put together. It sounds rather picky but when you sleep in it you will notice the difference instantly. There was also a bit of a smell in the bathroom. there was some light smell from the bathroom ventilation. Breakfast was pretty bad- the coffee terrible- stay here as cheap and nice but go out for breakfast. The parking is terrible in La Spezia. We need special pass only to loading our luggage. It's troublesome And no lift in the hotel. The Wi-Fi would not work well on my IPhone, but they tried to get it right. There English was spotty, but very helpful and kind. The breakfast room was still undergoing renovation so we had to take breakfast at a nearby cafe. None. We stayed 4 nights and breakfast was always the same. the breakfast was not great. breakfast, locked safe and refrigerator. Rooms could use a bit more lighting. Two flights of stairs, no lifts. Small room and somewhat over-priced for the facilities. The entrance is a bit hard to find, look for it in the little street between the buildings. The breakfast menu was a little limited. Breakfast -very hit and miss. It was difficult to find . Room size too small,Too little variety for breakfast and it seemed to be rationed.No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Room next to lobby was noisy. Initially a little hard to find. Dark rooms. They change all the towels every day even though you hang them up. It's a waste of water doing all that laundry. Bed is too soft. We pre-arranged an early check-in but there was no one present at our arrival. After walking from the station we then had to carry our packs back and leave them at the 'left luggage'. Isabel was apologetic and gave us a bottle of wine to make amends. Unfortunately the breakfast room was not ready after their winter break and although a voucher was given in a nearby cafe it was not as convenient as having breakfast in-house. Not enough cooking battery in the apartment (no teapot, pan), ants, uncomfortable beds, high humidity. A bit of walk from railway station although on the contrary such location means closer to the harbour front and main street shopping. You just don't have both sides of a coin. the location is far from the station. it takes at least 10mins walk. if you take the luggege, it is better to choose some one else which is close to the station. meanwhile, the room i took is for disable. we are not appreciate although the room is big. This is a two star hotel and you should not expect anything special.
