1. Amazing location. Right in the city center. Genova was a lot of small dirty streets, where you might be afraid to walk in the late evening. This is not the case here. The hotel is located on the central clean street with a lot of light and big elegant shops. This is pleasant. It is a bit hard to find, so better ask them to send you a photo with location. 2. Underground parking is available and is 50 meters from the hotel (about 10 -12 eur per night, Oct 2013) even if it is in the city cente.

The owner Augustino was kind, considerate and helpful as was his assistant. Tommy the little dog was welcoming too.Strangers to Genoa we could ask Augustine for help and generously receive it. We were given a large airy room and the bed was very comfortable. Room is clean. It was excellent value for the price we paid. The only thing missing when we stayed w. Lovely old building with elevator, which is rare in some buildings. This is small hotel and the staff were very helpful and provide a personal service. They don't speak English very well but we were able to communicate with google translate. All fun! Free wifi was good, and a TV, but no need to stay in the room as it is a short walk to streets of cafe's and restaurants and near to a supermarket.You can easily walk to the main areas in Genoa and the central fountain, then the harbour.Some intere. If you are in Genoa on a tight budget, your options are to stay in the scummy part of town around Principe station, or to stay at the Hotel Olympia, which has a perfect location on a busy and attractive street, a few minutes walk from the city centre. Agostino the proprietor is very friendly and will do anything to help out, possibly via google translate on his laptop. If you are lucky you may get to meet Tommy, his Jack Russell terrier, who often spends the afternoons in reception. Augustino is the very charming owner of this hotel, which is perfectly situated near the old historic centre of Genova. The rooms have several sizes, we stayed in a smaller one, but still good value for money. The rooms are clean and the furniture is ikea and new. Perfect spot for shopping or site seeing. You can park the car in the garage of the shopping mall coin opposite the hotel for 12 euro's a day. Very, very friendly staff. Augustino was charming and friendly despite the language barrier. His daughter, Rebecca is an absolute gem - who can speak Italian, English, Spanish, French and German as well as Latin - as well as being equally as charming. Lovely big room with a homely feel. Good location close to the railway station, shops and the old city. Good value for money. The hotel is very nice. Situated in the very centre of Genova it is comfortable, hospitable with well-disposed, useful staff really inclined to help every moment. The quality of service is high. The bathroom was not new, but in general everything else is amazing, recommending the hotel to everybody. Hotel services are in keeping with the budget, so don't expect fresh towels every day and breakfast is basic, at a cafe a short distance away. The rooms have no airco, so you have to open the windows. If you have a room at the street side, you cannot open the windows at night, the noise is too loud! So ask for a room in the back or at the side of the building and you'll be fine. Also the house numbers are changed, so the building shows up at the wrong spot on the navigation of the car or other online maps. It's directly opposite the entrance of the coin shopping mall. We were there in the height of summer and the room was very hot. A fab would've been a good idea. We had to leave the window and room door open for a cool air flow. This allowed the Mosquitos in for a feed. WI-FI didn't work in the room and we had to sit in the hall to use it. Not a criticism, but for the price I think some complimentary soap would be appropriate. And a sink plug! :-). Not able to get wifi in the room, had to go out in the corridor to get reception. Breakfast was a croissant and coffee in a cafe nearby. The only con is difficulty when looking for this hotel on the street. It's not hotel's fault though 'cause the buildings numeration is crazy. Hotel is not far from the big bridge above the via XX Settembre and is on the opposite side from the pink building on photo above. Look for a big door with signs to the right. There was construction going on. When it is complete, I am sure the hotel will seem even nicer. There is a church nearby so the bell was ringing since 7am. The shower cabin could be a little bit bigger. Just the toilet is a bit problematic because of old sewer system. Hard to find. It's actually on the 4th floor but no signage to tell you. We walked from the railway station and the directions from the bookings.com confirmation email were not easy to follow and not direct. finding it was quite a challenge ;); hotel a bit messy; strictly blue-white design of the interior; cramped bathroom;. The number of the street don't stay in line so it was a little bit confuse to get in it the first time. I sugest you inform that on the site, or send to the clients a picture of the place in the google view. It would help a lot. 1) Poor breakfast: only a cup of coffee and a croissant. 2) The photo on the main hotel page at letsbookhotel.com is not a photo of the hotel facade. This building is situated on the opposite side of the street. It's confusing. We spent much time trying to find the Olympia hotel in the building with statues. Because it was so hot and they did not have air conditioning, we had to leave the windows open to a main street so it was VERY loud and we were devoured by mosquitoes so we didn't get a great night's sleep. There was a small closet unit but no drawers to put cloths in. a bit loud. Shower. Breakfast outside the hotel only coffee and croissant. There were two bars where we could have it. In one bar the lady wasn't very friendly. This little meal can't be called breakfast and the cost of this meal is just 1.80 euros in any cafe. Wi-fi wasn't very good. We paid for breakfast, no breakfast they were renovating the kitchen. He took us to a coffee shop where we received 1 croissant and a little bit of coffee. The hotel looks really outdated and the entrance does not give you a good feeling. It was OK for the price but we will probably stay in a better hotel next time. Got to hotel to be told we had been moved to a hotel two doors away. Didnt stay in the Olympia!. Hard to find (closed streed) on the 4. th floor Parking far away No toilet in the room No hot water Wi-Fi out of order. The hotel room was in my opinion lower standard than hostel.In fact photos in description very deceiving as they of surrounding buildings not actual hotel.One to avoid umless desperate.
