The hotel is only a 15/20 min walk from the town centre but if you wantto you can take the bus which runs pretty often. The staff are politeand very helpfull and you get a fantastic sellection of food forbreakfast. The San Gallo Pallace was recomended to us by a friend and wewould certainly recomend it to others wanting to stay in Florence. Really very nice hotel, the building is charming with a garden and bar where you can relax in the evening. The room was wonderful: spacious, clean, quiet, and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the service excellent, staff extremely helpful. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
all reviews » The location of the Hotel was a tad off the path. If you spent your day like we did walking all over Florence you may have been tired to walk from the centre to the Hotel. I still believe based on value and location you can't go wrong with this Hotel. very friendly hotel staff, beautiful hotel, good location on the border of the inner city, restaurant recommendations of hotel staff are good!, not too big but delicate breakfast buffet. Our stay at the San Gallo Palace was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. We would not hesitate in recommending the hotel to others. very well located with easy bus access to the centre or walking (for those with good legs)(30 minutes take you everywhere. The hotel has some facilities of 5*, although it is 4*, some intelligent solutions, very helpfull and kind staff. Not really a big problem, the hotel is situated 10-15 min walk from Duomo, internet access was expensive.Not in the very center, but its a plus at the same time. On very hot days the walk into the centre of Florence was a little taxing - it was close to 20/25 minutes.The hotel was excellent, but very few restaurants close by. Its a little out of the way, not in the greatest of areas.
