Grandismo . The breakfst room is astounding . Bravo. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is nice.I found the price to be excessive as compared to the hotel facilities and service--it is definitely a nice hotel but the price is overvalued. One issue that is very bothersome is the air conditioner turns off after a certain time during "winter" but it was very hot during our stay and they still had it turned off. They finally did turn it back on for a longer period of time, after we complained.

Centuries of history and tradition have bequeathed to Florence a deeply felt, humanistic attitude to hospitality; a culture which has matured through the centuries, with traditions handed down the generations.

Innumerable famous people have stayed at the Grand Hotel during the 19th and 20th centuries. They include the Indian maharajah Rairan Cottraputti (cremated in 1871 with the Brahmin rite in Le Cascine) or the young American Leland Stanford Jr. who died in 1884 and in whose memory his parents founded the University in California that still today bears his name.
