  When looking for a hotel in Tropea, I selected the hotel with as few as possible negative remarks. We had planned a week of relaxing in Calabria to recover from a very stressful period at work, so we really wanted a 'safe haven' where there would be no annoyances and disturbances. This B&B turned out to be perfect for that: a nice, clean room,... what people say » very friendly staff who were very helpful when we asked for information about excursions, a good shower with two shower heads (normal and 'rain showe - Beautiful building - other than Santa Maria dell'Isola, I think this was the nicest building in town. Lovely the way it is lit up at night. The breakfast was outstanding - offering all kinds of local foods I wanted to try (mozzarella di bufalo, black olives, sundried tomatoes in olive oil and many more), plus bread meat, cheese, variety of juices etc. all set in a lovely outdoor garden. Room was a bit small but decent.

  We loved that it was so central. When we arrived I was not too happywith the original room given, (there was nothing wrong with it, i'm justfussy). The girl and the owner were so accomodating and showed us everyother room so we could choose ourselves. The big and wonderful breakfastin the morning was served up on the terrace by a lady who was a ple... what people say » asureto wake up to she was so helpful. - The warm service of the staff made the stay very enjoyable. The breakfasts were gastronomical and the service hospitable. A real effort was made to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect, only a few hundred meters from the beach and town square. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend Villa Antica Tropea to others.

  Third time in Marco Polo and can not say anything which we did not like. This is the best place for summer vacation with children (if you are not seeking luxury case) - very beautiful view to the sea and the water in it is very clean

  Everything at the Borgo di Santa Barbara was perfect. We stayed here for two weeks in June and felt so smitten to have found it. The grounds and building are beautiful. All have air con, fridges and sea views as does the pool which was gorgeous. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean and well furnished. They are helpful, friendly and attent - Warm welcome by Martina. Peaceful position, plenty of car parking. Close to beautiful Tropea centre . Pool, spacious . Restauant on site, excellent food, some of the best we have had in Italy. Fresh homemade bread and pastries. Red onion pizza great. Highly recommend and would love to come back for longer stay.

  Staff was amazing. We really felt treated as part of the family yet having privacy. Very nice breakfast with bellissimo cappuccino. It was ideally located just off the beach. Very comfortable bed. Our room was on the 4th floor and basically in the attic with beams that make bumping your head a good possibility. Our bath was lovely and well lit, but our friends' shower en - I loved the staff, all sweet and helpful women, especially Francisca, Valentina, Silvana and Francesca. The rooftop terrace is a dream, sparrows circling in the sky, views of the ocean, a place to read and think and write and they serve a delicious breakfast there in the mornings -- the best I had in Italy. THe location is excellent for walking thru the town or down to the sea.
