  On arrival, we were welcomed with smiles and Maria who spoke several languages. For a small hotel which was owned and run by mother Carmen and her two daughters Sabrena and Pierangela, it has been thoughtfully put together, and the rooms were clean and modern. We felt very much part of their family. They recommended good restaurants - My husband and our 3 kids just stayed at the Hotel Ancora Riviera and had a wonderful time! The staff is great and always available to help out in any way needed. We especially liked Fausto who always had a smile on his face and was extremely friendly and very helpful in giving us sight seeing information and restaurant recommendations. We truly enjoyed the Sporting Yacht Club located behind the hotel which hotel guests have access to for free. The pool was amazing and they have a fitness room

We were backpacking Europe and decided to stay at La Scogliera. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are so clean, and the view of the sea is spectacular. Delicious breakfast and made-to-order coffees, and the hotel lent us bikes to get to and from the train station. Just a train ride away from Cinque Terre, and, as recommended by hotel staff, Santa Margherita and Portofino. Lovely stay at La Scogliera; highly recommend.

The owners are very very nice and smiling people. The location is perfect - very quiet place with a nice view on the hill.   The hotel is situated not far from the beach(5-7 minutes walk). The village is not very big, so you can find everything close to the hotel. The room was cleaned every day. Very tasty Italian cuisine 4 course meal (antipastas, first dish (e.g. pasta or soup), second dish (e.g. meat or fish) and dessert) with choices at a very modest price. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel location is good as well, not far from railway station, beaches ... what people say » and historic center and dining areas. The staff is very friendly. - The hotel is basic but ticks all the boxes. The management and staff alike were always helpful and very pleasant. They made you feel really welcome. The food is excellent and although it is a set menu there is always something for everyone and the best value for money in Sestri. Drinks are also better value in the hotel than at the bars/restaurants in town. A 2* hotel with 5* service
