The location and the design of the hotel was fantastic. We liked how the hotel was almost brand new (having been recently restored), yet had been with the same family for a few generations. The restoration had obviously been completed very tastefully, with many original features having been retained, yet having discreet modern amenities and eco-friendly features. The property did not feel like a hotel at all - it felt more like a family home, lovingly restored, and open to the discerning public.

Bed very comfortable and linen pristine. Our room offered stunning views of the surrounding countryside with Sienna in the distance. The welcome offered to us on arrival was fantastic without being over the top and we were relaxing in our room no more than 5 minutes after parking the car. The pool sits on a terrace below the main buildings . Everything. This is an amazing renovated castle. The design and arcitecture was totally breath taking contemporary, classy, with tuscan touches. Our experience exceeded all my expectations. Gourmet food, fabulous service, lovely kind and genuine staff. Grounds were lovely, view from on top of the hill breath taking, we wished we had more time to just sit as the grounds are conducive to relaxation. Castello la Leccia made us feel so special. Also wine tour and tasting was lovely as was complimen. This place is truly special. It is family owned and operated and you can tell from before you even arrive when you receive ample email communication preparing you for your arrival. The staff are warm and welcoming, including the owners who made it their business to make us feel like we were at home. Gorgeous facilities and room, amazing grounds and views, delicious wine and dinner, complimentary cellar tour and wine tasting, complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival. Really can't say enough. Top Location on a hill near Castellina in Chianti, owner Francesco, Alice, Beatrice and all others are great people and give you a great time. Not to forget the cook Antonio who's is cooking on a star niveau !!! Interesting is also how the rebuild the building with great materials and a lot of passion for beauty and respecting the land. Own winery, olive oil. It makes your stay in Toscany how you would imagine with beautiful landscape, wine and food and friendly people. Francesco Daddi the owner gave us a personal wine tour which was great. The food was delicious, the wine he makes on the premises was superb - we bought 24 bottles - and everything was included. A perfect place - 10 out of 10. It does not get better! This is my 35th visit to Italy so I have stayed in many places. Full marks to Francesco and his staff, especially Beatrice and Alice. Interior decoration was a perfect complement to the 12th century exterior, in classical Italian contemporary. The is location spectacular. Breakfast was excellent. EVERYTHING! Castello La Leccia was a most beautiful hotel - situated within its own vinyard, with a wonderful view over miles of Chianti country. It was a privelage staying in a castle that dates back almost a 1000 years!. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience in an old castle in the Italian countryside, this may not be the place for you. Nothing... Having to leave!. We found the restaurant dinner food so-so - a few of the dishes were extremely over-seasoned (salty) even by Italian standards (which tend to be high on the salt side to begin with). Nothing. Even though the dinner and breakfast were good, with such a high standard of everything, one expects something different. Nothing. Nothing. Everything was Perfect!!. Leaving !.
