We had two junior suites (both with balconies - request one if you want one). They were spacious, modern, comfortable and immaculate - the maid on our floor cleaned the place as if it were her own house. The staff is extremely professional, friendly and helpful. (They even put an Easter "card" and gift in both our rooms!) Since the hotel is located outside the city walls, we normally asked the front desk to call us a taxi to get to the city centre. It is our second time arriving after midnight to the hotel as we land with ryanair very late. 10 minutes ride from the airport, we were welcomed by a young man who gave us for the price of 66 euros ( a regular double room) an apartment ! with a seperate kitchen, very spacious main room, shower and bath all new and possibly the best bed one can find in a hotel( they obviously invested in the good sleep of their guests ) . So far, the best hotel I have been to in Bologna...from the staff, the rooms, the breakfast buffet and the cleanliness. It is not a luxury hotel but everything you need to be comfortable and at home is provided. Kudos to the staff, who are always helpful and friendly! The location is not so far from the city center. We loved the Tempurpedic bed. We were surprised that our "comfort room" included a kitchen, leather couch and large desk. It was modern, spotless, and quiet--we slept like very pampered babies. The receptionists were attentive, pleasant and efficient. We rank this as the best deal we found in Italy after traveling for 6 weeks. The breakfast was substantial, the scrambled eggs perfectly prepared. We were able to park on site, but be warned that there are only 8 spots. It looked like there was am. I liked that staff was very friendly, helpful and nice. They were always happy and smiling at us. Due to the fact that our departure flight was very early in the morning, they gave us breakfast to go at 5 AM. The only thing that wasn't perfect about this hotel was the location, but we saved about $1000 for the week by not staying inside the city walls. Thos who wish to be in the heart of the city may find it a bit far, but busses and taxi, next to the hotel can take you to the city centre in minutes or you can walk 20-30 minutes if not stressed . Better live a rented car in a garage as it is difficult to find parking Bologna centre. No minus for this hotel. The wifi connection in our room was terrible. Although served well by buses which leave from outside the hotel, we found when returning from a daytrip to Venice that the last bus from the railway station past the hotel was at 19.45 and we'd missed it. That involved a long walk into the city to catch another bus. Shower head did not stay up. Basin, though beautiful, was poorly designed: it splashed. I am not certain the air conditioning was on....but I should have asked. The only thing that was a small inconvenience is that the wifi is not the best in rooms - we often lost connection and had to go to the 2nd floor to use the net. Niente!. I cannot remember anything bad about the hotel. The only difficulty lies with the free parking in the basement of the hotel. It is very small - for 10-12 cars - and one has to manoeuvre in and out of it. My recommendation to Bookings is that you expressly mention in your reservation email that guests should first contact the Reception before parking their car. The open parking opposite is quite good for 6 euros a day. The walls in the main room were pretty dirty and despite advertising English TV channels, I could only find CNN. The internet connection was very slow in the room. Nothing to report. a bit far from the city center to walk every day, but bus stop is nearby. quite far from train station, about 20min to city centre, not working kitchen in our room, whats more use of the oven in room costs extra (about 10e), quite old bathroom, bad WiFi in the room. There were a few small areas that required detailed cleaning, I.e the fridge... presses... If you rent a car, hotels park facilities are not great, so we had to pay to leave the car at another garage. Brekfast service was great, but ingridients could be better. Wifi was very slow in the room and at times didn't work at all. In general it's quite an interesting room concept: spacious rooms, decorated in a mix of cheap-elegant style, probably perfect for groups of friends wanting to party but not so ideal for single or couple travellers - then you don't need the huge size but would prefer it to be a bit cleaner, e.g. there were stains on the curtains and the whole room smelled rather unpleasantly. But if you get a good rate, go for it. The wireless Internet is very slow and often tricky to log on. The first room we checked was smelly. That smell originated from the bathroom. Some problem with the sewers maybe. But when we told the reception they immediately changed our room to a room that was fine. The wifi lost connectivity a lot, and you could only log in with one device at a time which i didnt like. the only thing which was not good and needs to be improved is the wi-fi connection. it took us minutes to load a page and a 4-star hotel should have a good internet connection! the hotel is a bit far from the city centre (20 min on foot) but close to a bus station. the central heating was very hot but this was everywhere including shops... so it is not only the hotel. Nothing really important to complain about - maybe just that internet was a bit slow at times. The hotel is a bit far from the fair district where conferences are usually held. it is also not located in the city center, which is not far from the hotel. There was no breakfast before 7. We had a plane at 8 and had to check out earlier. The hotel should think about guests who have to leave early morning to the airport and offer something to eat before 7. No gripes at all!!. Hotel is about 30 min walk form the city center, more business type, but good.. No restaurant in hotel and not much choice nearby, although good choice in centre.
