staff very friendly,they help very much with the language barrier,they make your stay the best you will probably ever receive for the money, cant understand why this hotel isnt a higher star rating, drinks are cheapest in amalfi, food is great, room was as big as my friends in the santa caterina but for a tenth of the cost,i could go on and on. Free car parking. 15mins walk to centre of Amalfi - but downhill! Sunny, sea view balcony. Hotel owner very friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions - he even gave us a lift to one.

We appreciated very much. we had a sea view ...and a balcony to sit and watch the world go by!!!The owners were so lovely and obliging!!!. Wifi only available between 7 - 10pm. Would be difficult for anyone with disabilities. Lack of wireless internet as promised. breakfast was the same every day. We have reservation on 4 nights. The road conditions in montains where very difficult and we afraid late on flight in Fiumicino. So we decided leave the day before, but hotel needed paymant for 4 days,. would be good if had access to dinner facilities on site for when too tired to go out again...about 20min walk to amalfi. Also breakfast quite bland - some yoghurt and fruit would have been good. The hotel was a bit out of town, but if you take the bus back from the center, it is fine. Website clearly stated that there was a solarium on the roof - this was not the case - we did see one on another hotel - a bit of a disappointment Need to keep website accurate. Quite far from amalfi centre, by feet.rules and regulations were a bit draconian. A little lacking in atmosphere, but we put that down to early season and not so many guests. Tea and coffee making facilities in room would have enhanced the stay. inflexible hotel staff. A ban on taking food or drinks into the room with a threat of additional service charge if caught. The promo pictures showed a lavish breakfast being served on the balcony patio set. The hotel is further out of town than I anticipated; being a 15 minute (difficult) walk from restaurants. The owner is over-fond of "regulations".The road outide the hotel was extremely dangerous due to idotic drivers, though the hotel was very helpful in posting someone outside to help get out. Not down to the hotel...but the police need to do something about the horrendous driving speeds in the town. The roof terrace is not ready, yet it is featured on the website.Strict rules eg no food or drink to be brought into room from outside of hotel. The owner although friendly had rules and regulations on the wall to be adhered to, he simply told us off from time to time. Regarding silly things it was my birthday 7th Feb. I requested room service at 7.30am because we were going out for the day it was agreed the evening before by the owners son. The owner brought breakfast in the morning and told us that we should have been informed that room service did not start until 8.30am when the staff arrived.About a 10-15minute walk to the main part of town which we thought would be closer from location on map. The coffe break could be a bit better and the owner could be more easy going with their guests (a lot of rules for a family with children). I reserved a double superior room with view to the sea, but got a normal room with no view at all.Breakfast. the staff, very unpleasante and ineducate. the staff (owner,son, other receptionists, the guy who minds the cars..) was terrible! unfrendly and impolite, barking rules and regulations..The walls of the chamber were all cracked, the water from the shower wasn't running through..You had a fridge in the room that you weren't allowed to use (not even to put a bottle of water in)The electricity in the room would stop when you'd leave the room. We booked a room with sea view, but received one with 'garden view' - the window faced directly a huge wall. Staff does not volunteer any information fully (e.g.: parking is available for free on site, but this means accross the road, not in front of the hotel). Inside and outside the rooom there are plenty of warnings regarding possible ways to offend house rules. Unfriendly environment.

Travelling information

From Naples Airport: take the motorway road (which is the ring road that by-passes Naples)and then from this highway take the Salerno-Reggio Calabria exit.You will then come to the Autostrada del Sole Toll post where you will be asked to pay the standard toll. Along the motorway you will see Mount Vesuvius on the left hand side. You will pass the towns of Ercolano, Torre Annunziata, Torre del Greco and Pompei. Take the Castellamare exit, once you are through the toll post follow the arrows to Amalfi/Costiera Amalfitana. You will be driving along the Lattari Mountains through the towns of Gragnano, Agerola, Furore etc until you arrive at the Amalfi Drive cross roads, once there you turn left towards Amalfi and after about 500mt you will see the Hotel Bellevue on the left.

From Rome: Take the A1 “Autostrada Del Sole Roma/Napoli” (highway - green sign post) follow this through to Naples toll post. After paying the toll continue until you see the sign post (green) for the A3 Pompei/Salerno/Reggio-Calabria this motorway will by-pass the city of Naples and take you to the exit toll post where you will be asked to pay the standard toll (and then follow instructions as above).
