My sister and I recently stayed at the Hotel Lachae. After the initial difficulty of locating the place as it is in Aci Trezza and not Aci Castello as advertised, we had a lovely relaxing time. The staff were outstandingly helpful, the dining room was good and the rooms were clean and spacious. We had a lovely view of the sea harbour from our balcony so I would advise guests requesting a room with a balcony.
all reviews » In the hotel we had a triple room with a sea view. The rooms are clean, beautiful, large, with a fridge, a large balcony and stunning views over the islands of the Cyclops. The hotel has free parking and a lovely pool. Good location for sightseeing in the western part Sicilje. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great (at least 4 *). We strongly recommend this hotel. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. It felt like a home from home being honest. The food is really good value too, and really nice. The balcony with sea view was private and the swimming pool was clean and the perfect temperature. Although the hotel was busy they went out of their way to ensure parking. There is no major fault except maybe that the coffee and orange juice at breakfast might be better. The only thing I would say is that the small town beside the hotel is a bit quiet at night, but you can't have everything!. The beach was far away and wasn´t nice. English is not spoken by all the reception staff but we managed with a little Italian and some sign language. Tea and coffee facilities in room would have been a plus. It is situated near a lot of traffic. At the pool sometimes lot of gasoline smell. A group of teenagers stayed in the hotel the last two days (may). A lot of noise in night time. The city is very small and there are not many things to do. Staying there for one night is probably enough. There is no beach in this town. All big rocks so you actually can't go into the see. much noise from the traffic outside - bring ear plugs!. Distance to sea. A little hard to find. Really clear directions would help.
