I loved staying in this castle. It was full of history and very old furniture. All the guest rooms were uniquely designed and furnished. Besides all of this, the castle is haunted, which adds to the overall atmosphere! Helen, who is employed at the castle, was especially helpful in assisting us in securing our preferred accommodation. She even went out of her way to procure bicycles for our use during our stay. She is an exemplary staff member and for this we are very grateful as she made our .
all reviews » Upon arriving the staff was so exceptionally friendly and helpful. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this was by far the best reception I've experienced. The bar staff was another experience altogether!!!! We waited for likely more than half an hour for our meal...but when it arrived..it was the best pasta I've eaten...compliments to the chef!!!! The facilities were great of course because of it being a castle!! But we didn't experience any spirits or ghosts.. The castle itself was lovely. Exactly what we expected and more. The staff were absolutely lovely and conor the bar man was the friendliest bar man we've ever come across. Really enjoyed the tour and history of the castle and the food was beautiful. We will be returning this month. I was overwhelmed by the bedrooms and baths....everything I thought an old castle would be. We booked three rooms including the Honeymoon suite and it was simply something (the suite) out of "The Tudors"! Best seafood bisque I've ever had in the restaurant, and lovely breakfast. Everything about Kinnitty is magic. Starting from where it is situated to the kindness of staff members including the gorgeous rooms and delicious food. We stayed there for on night and later on got married there and everything was absolutely wonderful. I loved the warm welcome of the staff, they were so helpful and especially the night porter who made us toast when we had to leave at 5am! I loved the authentic feel of the castle and the history and also the ghosts in my room!. The location was excellent, for our trip quiet and relaxing .The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the night manager who helped us plan our walks. Breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. Everything about this place is magical. As soon as you drive through the gate you are transported to a different time and place. The food was wonderful and to sit in the library bar with a red wine was awesome. The staff were excellent in particular Maura one of the housekeeping staff she was so nice.The food was first class and the general ambience of the place was very special.We throughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very polite and efficient despite being under pressure. The room was very spacious if a little minimalist. The food in the restaurant was excellent and amazing value for money. We liked the location and the very friendly staff, the food was excellent and it was a typical castle atmosphere and the countryside around was stunning with lots of tourist attractions. The bedroom was very large and the bed very comfortable! Dinner was very good, breakfast was excellent!! The castle ambiance is worth the visit!. I loved everything about the hotel; the staff, the room, the view, and the food. I would definitely go back and stay again. Meals views looking out of castle grounds exterior view of building. Genuine Castle Excellent dinner. Atmosphere was pretty authentic to what one would expect or desire. I loved it all!. Only the bar staff!@!!! Maybe they were busy!!. Only one thing and that was the dungeon bar being closed, we would have loved to have a drink down there but we do understand the opening days. Shower curtain....I had a wonderful, gushing hot shower, tad bit scalding. My cousin, however, had a shower that went suddenly cold, then almost scalded herself. I did not like my first room The Maureen Suite. It was far far too eerie. I would suggest having a way of brightening up the rooms on that level as they are a bit too dark and creepy. Shower could have been slightly better but is certainly not a major issue. They could do with upgrading the bikes for hire and a bit of live music would be great which we did'ent have as we stayed midweek but it was high season. Obviously showing signs of strict financial controls - not enough staff and furnishings/building needed a refurbishment. Nothing really, apart from the Monk in the castle dungeon, which was in keeping with the place but that I found spooky!. Wifi didn't work on my iPhone. Love everything about it. The shower was very small and water was not constant. The water didn't drain away either. Needed to be told more about the facilities at the castle as we didnt know about the dungeon bar. Not all rooms are as decorated as well as they could be. Television old and doesn't work, but when you are in a wounderfoul castle Who matter?. Nothing!. Room was very hot. Beds and cleanliness. the showers in the bedroom was dangerous as the water could go from cold to scalding in a second.very hard to adjust as there was delayed reaction for water comming through.this should have been brought to guest attension. Beds trash on walking trails (old tires!) unattractive plaster in bed rooms. Odors. Withered flowers in vases - empty vases would be better. Strangely breakfast fry was awful quality even though dinner had been excellent the previous night. Furnishings were often in need of repair and window panes cracked and dirty. Beds were very uncomfortable and needed replacing and area rugs absent. Vinyl floorsin the bathroom. Not anything like the luxury world class experience we were led to expect but quite the opposite.
