Although CityNorth is out of town in Dublin terms, it is yards from the M1 motorway and therefore very convenient for North-South travellers. The car park is vast and has the advantage of being at the front of the hotel building, so arrival and departure is very smooth indeed. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. I had a special need for use if the business centre and when I experienced difficulty with the pay-as-you-go printer, the reception clerk kindly asked me to email the docu.
all reviews » I liked everything about the City North hotel. I had requested a smoking room as my husband smokes and we were upgraded to an executive suite at no extra cost as it was an available smoking room, it was just beautiful, huge, with robes, slippers, fresh fruit, sparkling water etc. We have stayed a few times on the way to or from Dublin airport but this was our 1st time to stay strictly for leisure and it will not be our last, there is a lovely walkway which will bring you to Gormanstoun Castle a. My husband and myself enjoyed everything about the hotel. The staff made you feel very welcomed the room was absoultley amazing and the bed was so comfortable and was really big which is great. The rooms where decorated to a high standard and the bathroom was a good size. The breakfast was really tasty and there was something to suit everyones taste. we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and can't wait for our next stay. Thank you City North Hotel. Although not in an ideal location beside a major highway it was not noisy and it was very comfortable. The hotel had everything one could want and they seemed to have thought of everything including the little things. The food, especially the breakfast was one of the finest I have experienced anywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The receptionist did a really good job and helped me out with some print outs, informing me that they were ready before she finished her shift. I appreciated that. The bus driver in the morning did a great job, offered a coffee and showed us where to get the bus in the event that we pass through Dublin airport next time - very good !!!!. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful The rooms were very clean and spacious The breakfast was brilliant and not an expensive add on 10 euros of adults only 5 euros for my son and our daughter ate for free. Easy to find and a handy location for attractions such as funtasia and handy for day trip to Dublin. very pleased with the hotel and staff. very friendly and the roomd were comfortable and clean. weather was really good so the air conditioning really helped. and kids had a great time. 15 mins away from funtasia and 10 mins away from bettystown. i will be back to stay soon. very pleased. There wasn't anything we didn't like, the staff were lovely,really friendly, the room was beautiful and we were given an upgrade which was a really nice gesture and surprise. I'd come back again and i'd bring my son to as i noticed the hotel is child friendly. It was all good, I requested a pick up from Dublin airport and it was there within 3 mins of my arriving at the coach park, a friendly helpful driver .. great service, great staff, great hotel, absolutely no complaints. will stay again and look forward to it. The staff were fabulous. We attended a family wedding at the hotel and it was very well organised. The dinner and evening buffet was also very good. We attended a wedding on Saturday 08th June 2013 and stayed the night and found the staff very friendly and the food was top quality.Our room was spotless and very modern.Overall our experience of the Hotel was very positive.Thank you. I was at my sons wedding and I have to say ...the attention to detail by the staff was amazing...we had a wonderful day... rooms great size...plenty of car park spaces...and even a little playground for the kids.... Your Receptionist Laura is a real jem ,lovely manner and very informative .Pointed out how easy it is to stay with you park and fly from the airport . We didn't get to see very much of the hotel but what we did see we liked the staff were very friendly and we think they even felt it wrong that we were only to be served one drink. Very convenient for me & enabled me to travel in my car from Ballymoney & not have to worry about it being parked at the hotel while I was away at the Monaco Grand Prix. The location is top class for conferences etc. The room was very spacious with a great heating system. We had breakfast and dinner which was top class. Well done to all. We drove down to Dublin from the North West. Finding the hotel was easy from the motorway. Parking was great. Staff were very helpful. All was easy and comfortable. staff went out of their way to help us we were traveling all day and they could not do enough for us i would thank them all we loved it there we will go back again soon. Proximity to Tayto Park, Funtasia waterpark and beaches great family break for Granny and 2 grandchildren, great accommodation and breakfast. over all the hotel was very good an excellent place to stay .if you are looking for a quiet relaxing weekend city north is well worth a try. Hi I would recommend to anyone as the hotel was clean friendly staff and good faculties. It was clean comfortable and relaxing and the staff where very helpfull and friendly. we were near everything we needed to do shopping, tayto park , beaches and fantasia. There was nothing about the City North that we didn't like. Just the location but it didn't seem to matter for a one night stay. It was very conveniently situated for Dublin airport where we were headed for our flight home. The log bus for booking the shuttle bus might need to be a little clearer so that it is easy to know how many people booked the bus. Nothing. There was nothing i didn't like. Nothing. Someone attending the hotel/wedding had used our room number to order drinks and food, which had appeared on our bill. However, once this was brought to the attention of the reception staff this was removed without fuss or quibble. So from what could have been an issue, we had a positive outcome. There wasn't anything that we didn't like. this is not really a bad point...but found the hotel a times very hot.. Breakfast a bit slow .The kippers were a good quality but they were over cooked . We phoned ahead of our stay as it was Good Friday and asked could we purchase alcohol and we were told we could once we were having a meal.when we went to order our meal we were very disappointed when we were told we could only have one drink each and could not be served anymore.My husband asked if we could have a refund and was refused,we really felt it should have been explained to us over the phone when we rang. The extractor fan was broken in the bathroom and the shower leaked on to the floor which took away from the comfort of the shower as one was conscious of it. Service in bistro was poor. Menu was even poorer for such a high class hotel. It was busy but has very few staff. Whom in my opinion wasn't too bothered whether customers got served or not. There was a dead wasp in the hash browns for breakfast. the carpet in the room was badly stained in places. The duvet was the most uncomfortable I have ever come across - heavy & unyielding. not enough pillows for us all as we were use to having two each... Might get v busy at certain peak times. We found the bed to be very hard and uncomfortable.Website did not tell us we needed to book the Airport shuttle bus so we had to take a bus at a time that did not suit us.IE 3-00AM.This was the only one available. The hotel grounds leave a lot to be desired. in the middle of no where nothing within walking distance. Nothing. knocking on room to clean at 8.30am is a little early. A bit out of town but location is very easy to get to if you have a car. Windows only open about two inches if you like an airy room. Childrens main courses excellent value but their desserts were way too expensive! €3 for an ice lolly - I buy 10 of the same ones in lidl for €3 !!. Dinner menu included in the package was fairly limited which would explain the reasonable rate however we expected a wider variety.No walk in shower,shower mixer in the bath.Not expected from a 4 star hotel. Not one thing I did not like. Gave 48 hours notice for a treatment, still not enough notice for the staff. Website and guest directrory info doesnt always match. The picture of the room and the description on d website didnt exactly match up with the real thing so in that way was probably pricey for what i got but i enjoyed my stay all the same. it would not be as easy to visit these places without transport.
