Lovely hotel and very well located! Only one girl on duty on the day we left and she had to do Reception,cook and serve breakfast and wash-up singlehandedly and she did it with a smile. She is only there a short time and was very helpful. Breakfast was fabulous and our room was lovely.We will definitely stay there again!. Friendly staff-cosy bar and a chance to meet locals. Overall I liked my stay at Wards Hotel it was very central and within walking distance to the town where there was a great resturant the Gallon. The hotel was small but cozy, the decor was outdated but very clean with fresh towels and lovely bed linen. It was perfect for my quick visit to Lower Salt Hill.The hotel is not one of the bland new Ireland developments. It is an established place and the bar downstairs has a real local clientele. Safe parking is available and the breakfast good. The towels are big and soft... Room is on the small side but this would not put me off staying here again. I did not like the breakfast it was suppose to be a full Irish but it was more like a mini breakfast instead. The crowd in the bar at night was much older then myself and boyfriend it was fine for a quick drink but was not the atmosphere for a party night. No shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries etc.noise. The rooms we booked were very small and not like they where displayed on booking, because the toilets were also very small, which were about the size of a phone box and that was a single room, while the double room was no better with bits and bobs cramed into every availibale space.
